The room felt suffocating as I sat next to Adrian’s bed. His breathing was steady now, a little less shallow than it had been before. The machines beeped loudly vo, nearly like they were lullabying him into some false sense of peace. But I knew better. He wasn’t awake. And perhaps he wouldn’t be for a long time. I had been sitting there for hours, just staring at him. My mind was a mess, and my feelings were worse. I had to talk to him. I need to. But there was a storm inside me something I couldn’t ignore any longer. I left after sometime and came back. I had gone to check up on Layla and also gave instructions to the guards to tighten the borders and also search for Drake. Maybe now Adrian might be awake and we would continue with our discussion before he fell into unconsciousness
