Because he disliked leaving anything undone, he must have left early to supervise pack matters. I felt a pang in my chest and guilt. He was doing too much already and needed rest so he doesn't break down but Del was stubborn. I secretly hoped that I could relieve him of some of his troubles even if only temporarily.
