Ophelia's POV
Cricket stepped into the room, eyes wide.
"Are you okay?" she asked carefully, standing in the middle of the floor.
"I'm fine," Ophelia reassured her. "It's nothing."
Ophelia could feel the tears dripping down her cheeks, still, though, and knew Cricket didn't believe her.
"What happened? Lilac said you seemed upset, but she had something else to attend to. I came as soon as she told me," Cricket assured.
Ophelia offered a watery smile.
"It's just, it's so stupid. I didn't know the gamekeeper was also the dean. Then, when I somehow got caught up in the fallout from the food fight, he thinks that's the appropriate time to tell me that he doesn't think we should continue whatever is going on between the two of us," Ophelia choked on another sob.
