Chapter two - I'm the boss

Adam's POV:

Hello, my name is Adam. I'm twenty-eight years old. I have a company in the center of the city. Dad has offered me to work with him. Everyone expected I would say yes and take over his business after some time. That didn't happen. I wanted to be different and create something that I liked. Now you know why I'm not with him. I should say that he has helped me a lot. I wouldn't have been where I am today without him. I have enough workers who do their job well. Of course, I won't deny hiring more. One of my workers quit her job. She is pregnant and moving out of town with her boyfriend. I offered to pay her the salary for the next month as well. That is when her documents will be ready. She denied that. That's why I can't do anything else about her. It looks like they have enough money. It's not easy to raise a baby. I have friends with kids. Her position will be open again. I don't care if a man or a woman takes it. I need someone with experience who will work, not talk. I have this worker, Darla. She gossips about everyone else. The reason why I haven't fired her is her experience. It will take me time to find someone at her place and train him. I don't have time for this. Well, I'll see how long I can stand her. My patience also has limits that she shouldn't test. I hope that I don't have to fire her because she is doing her job well.

I wonder when the fall will come. I'm not a big fan of the summer. It's hot, and my suit is not helping me. I can't go to work in shorts and flip-flops. After all, I'm the boss. People see the respect in me. The other thing is that I won't feel comfortable. I prefer to stay like that at home. I live alone, and no one will see me. From time to time, my parents come. I go to see them as well. It depends on the day and how much work I have. Usually, we do it on the weekends.

I woke up and got ready for work. I'm not the best cook. I can make a good breakfast. For lunch, I always go with one of my workers. I want to know how they feel working with me and if they need changes. I'm trying everything to make everyone feel good. Of course, I won't make every wish come true. After I finished my food, I washed my plates and went out. During the summer, I take my car. It has an air conditioner. I prefer walks during the rest of the seasons.

- Good morning. Kelsey, I need the mail.

- It's on your desk, sir. We need to talk about something.

- Come to my office.

- Thanks. - my assistant said and closed the door

- What is it?

- I checked the mail and found something weird. I don't know what to do with it. That is why I didn't put it in the system.

Kelsey blushes and goes to another world when she thinks about her boyfriend. She believes I haven't noticed it. After all, I'm her boss. I find this nice. For lunch, I went to eat with Ethan. He is one of my co-workers. I'm trying to talk with everyone and understand if they are missing something in the company.

I'm sure she can tell me something about everyone. It's better if I don't know. Ethan and I went back to work. I promised my parents to meet them for dinner. This time, we'll be outside. I won't make my mom cook anything. In the afternoon, I went to my meeting. We are launching a new product.

- The marketing team has worked on strategies to promote the products.

- Social media is the best way. I know you are not a fan, but we should do it if we want success. - John said

- We can start a page of the company. That way, more people will look up and buy our products. - Cassie said

- Ok, we can do that. Annie, will you take care of it? Create accounts on every social media.

- We need a good launch. We can't introduce the product like that.

- How about PR? - Lizzy said

- Famous creators on social media get PR packages that they review. That will gain us new customers.

- Does this mean sending free products to people?

We keep selling products online, but joining social media might be a good idea. I didn't want to do it because I wanted us to be different. We might need a promotion. The PR idea was good. I'm not a fan I have to give free stuff, but it might be great. After work, I got ready for dinner with my parents. I let them choose the restaurant. I know they have good taste. They were already waiting for me. I'm glad that we talked about work. They give me new ideas.

- I'm good, thanks. I had a meeting in the afternoon. It was great.

- When will you launch something new?

- Soon.

- And?

- I won't tell you anything. You have to wait.
