Adam's POV:
The dinner with Jasmine was great. I thought she wouldn't come because she called me last minute. I'm glad that she showed up. I haven't been out with many girls, but she was the best one I have had. The conversation was going on naturally. It's like we have known each other for years. I needed something like that. The question is whether it will happen again. I can ask her. I don't know if she will say yes. She might think that I'm insisting. It's better if we take it slowly. After all, I want us to have good relations. This might take us some time. I'm afraid she will never tell me what is bothering her. Once, she said it was the most beautiful thing in her life. At the same time, she wished it had happened later. Maybe it's something about high school. I won't ask anything. When she feels ready, she will tell me. I won't deny that I would love to have her for one night again. We can have another dinner. I have noticed that alcohol makes her lose. I can say the same about myself. That happens to people who don't drink often. It might be better to keep her away. Once you have a good company, you want to repeat it. I would love it if this could happen again. Let's not rush things. You never know what can happen. I'll keep it calm and wait to see what will come next. I hope that I don't have to wait too long.
On the weekends, I like to rest and not think about work. It's hard when I know Jasmine works for me. We can spend the day together, but she probably has plans. She has told me that her weekends are busy. Luck might be on my side. I haven't thought about what I would say. The other thing is that I promised to go out with my mom. She wants to know what is going on in my life. I don't mind, but she doesn't need to know everything. Some things should be private. If I talk about Jasmine, she will say we are married.
Currently, I'm having breakfast. Mom said she would come home for coffee. Dad will be out with his friends. Later, my mom will go out as well. I will catch her before she goes out. I'm sure she has something to tell me. I like talking with her, but I'm old enough to do some things alone. I washed my dishes and made coffee. Mom texted me that she would be here in five minutes. When everything was prepared, I went to open the door. Judging by her clothes, she is ready to go out.
- You look good, mom. I believe you will go out.
- Yes, I will. I will join your dad's friends.
- I thought he would go out with them for lunch.
- True, but one of his friends' wives never misses commenting on me.
- Mom, why do you care? I thought you were over these things.
- No one can tell me how to dress and make fun of me.
- I think you look good enough since my dad is still with you. He doesn't care about this.
- But I do.
- Since when?
- Let's talk about you.
- I was afraid you would say that.
- How is your love life? Stacey is not calling anymore.
- This is the good news.
- I did what I could. What is going on with Jasmine? You know I want you to be happy the way I am.
- Mom, we are fine. She is busy today.
- From where do you know?
- She told me.
- So you are texting her. Good job.
- No, I don't. We go to work together. Don't forget that.
- Fine. Now, seriously. If you feel something, don't feel afraid to share it.
- I don't. I barely know her. There are some things that she doesn't want to share.
- I'm sure you two have something to talk about.
- Honestly, it comes naturally. It's like we have known each other for years.
- See? You will never know what will happen until you try.
- What about you? I suggest you change these clothes and wear whatever you want.
- This is different.
- How? You are not trying to impress anyone. Also, it's too much for a simple lunch.
- You think?
- Yes. Dad doesn't care what you wear. He still loves you.
- But I want to look good next to him.
- I bet he didn't marry you because of how you look. - I said, and she laughed
- No. After one crazy night, things were different.
- Then? Why are you worried so much?
- I'm mad at her.
- No one cares except for you.
- Isn't this enough?
We dropped it there. Mom was never a jealous person. Dad has always shown his love for her. She wants to prove to everyone that he was lucky and got married to a good-looking woman. He doesn't care about this at all, but she does. People's comments can be annoying. I know that. I planned to go out when I got a message from Jasmine. She has freed her day from chores. I don't know if this is a good sign, but I'll take it as one. We agreed to meet for lunch. I let her choose the restaurant. I don't think I have been to this one. Well, I would love to try something new.
- I won't lie. You surprised me. I thought you were busy.
- Initially, I was. Things changed at the last minute. I guess someone wanted you to have a good day.
- Don't worry. I'll thank this person.
- Since I can have this day for myself, we can do something in the afternoon. Do you have favorite activities?
- Honesty, I have focused so much on my work. I have no idea what I like anymore.
- How about a long walk around the town?
- Why not? First, I need a full stomach. - I said, and she laughed
- Me too. I won't deny some meat.
- We are on the same wave. Alcohol?
- Let's leave it for dinner. Well, if you don't mind.
- Not at all. I would love to take you out for dinner.
- I want to pay for the food.
- Why?
- Because I'm in a good mood. Will you let me?
- You are a girl. I can't do that.
- Please. Thanks to you, I have a better salary.
- You earned it yourself. You are a good employee.
- Said from you means a lot.
- Also, you are a good friend.
- I wonder what I'm not good at.
- You tell me. I would love to get to know you.
- You won't like the story. Let's leave it for another day.
I feel like the so-called another day will never come. I won't say anything. It's enough that she agreed to stay with me. The rest of the afternoon we spent around the town. I got us drinks, and we went to the park. Even if we don't talk, I don't find this awkward at all. It's even the opposite. I think I can understand more about her after a glass of wine. None of us drinks that much, but I won't deny repeating my dinner with her.
- Where do you want us to go for dinner?
- So you are still up for this?
- Why wouldn't I be?
- I don't know. You might get bored with me.
- This is not possible. I'll never get bored with you.
- But you won't always think the same about me.
- Why do you think this way?
- Many people have left after they found out some things about me.
- Things like what?
- They are not a priority and will never be. Some people like the attention for themselves.
- I'm not one of them.
- Good for you.
- I shouldn't insist, but why do you think sharing this will change something?
- Because not everyone is ready for this. Also, I have received criticism for this and my age. Twenty-four-year-olds don't act this way. They have more free time than I do.
- I'm afraid to ask, but are you a babysitter?
- No. Can you leave me to tell you when I want to do it? Insisting won't help you.
- I'm curious.
- I know, but this is part of my personal life. The other thing is that I resolved the problem.
- You did?
- Yes, I will have more free time now.
- That is good. You still haven't told me where you want us to go for dinner.
- I will let you decide. I'm sure you know good restaurants.
- I might know a few.
- When you feel hungry, we can go.
- That is, if you don't do it before me.
Everything looks so natural. I don't know what to tell her anymore. I'll stop asking. She said the problem was solved. I have no idea what it was, but it doesn't matter anymore. We went to a restaurant after 7 pm. I can take her home, but I won't do it. I'm not such a good chef. Well, things might take a turn. I don't know where things can go. I mean, how far will they go? That is something I have to find out. She is my employee, and I'm not supposed to do that. I wasn't supposed to be out today with her either, but look where we are now. I'll use the chance I have.
- I think you are trying to get me drunk.
- That is not true. I have told you that I drink when I'm with someone.
- Then why did you order for me?
- Because it feels stupid for you to look at how I drink.
- I'll let it pass this time. - she said, chuckling
- We can make this a regular thing.
- No, thanks. I want to be on the clean side.
- I wasn't talking about the alcohol.
- Oh. My bad.
- What are your plans for tomorrow?
- I can't go out with you.
- I didn't say you should. I plan to rest and get ready for Monday.
- I'll do the same. I might clean a bit and cook something.
- Do you have a favorite meal to cook?
- Not really. I like everything. I'm not a picky eater.
- I hate picky eaters. They never decide what they want.
- Right? I don't eat this, I don't eat that. Then, breathe air and drink water. - she said, and I laughed
- Some people probably do that.
- F them.
- I never thought I would hear that from you.
- I'm sorry, but it's true. When I'm annoyed, I say things that I usually wouldn't.
- Everyone has their moments. I'm not that calm, either. Well, it's rare for me to get mad or annoyed.
- Good for you. I'm trying to stay still most of the time.
- Is it working?
- No. - she said, and we laughed
- I can give you a lesson.
- I might need one. You can write a book about this. How to stay calm in tough situations.
- I'll think about this. You can be my first reader.
- With pleasure.
- I wish this dinner would never end.
It's probably because of the alcohol, but she is looser and talkative. I mean, she doesn't think about anything. The girl says whatever is on her mind. It's good in some situations. Some people do this every day. I offered to come home with me, but she denied it. Jasmine didn't want me to send her. I can take her out another day. Things shouldn't get serious. We are friends. Right? My parents won't believe it, especially my mom. I would love to get to know Jasmine more, but it's her decision what she will tell me about herself. I hope that we can keep up with the good relations.
