Opening my eyes, I examined my environment and was shocked to see that I was lying in a bed, in a dimly lit room. “Where am I?” I asked again, turning my head to the other side. My eyes met those of a blue-eyed man—his eyes a deep, calm blue, like the ocean. He was insanely beautiful, with long, feminine dark hair and sharp features that made him look almost unreal. His face was calm and expressionless. I stared at the unknown man, trying to gather my thoughts. I sat up suddenly and felt a sharp, excruciating pain. He gently pushed me back down and said softly, “Please, stay still. You’re hurt and need to rest.” I pushed him away, panicking. “Who are you? Where am I? What am I doing here? Where are the bandits?” “It’s okay,” he replied quietly. “They’re far from here. You’re safe now.” You fainted, so I brought you to my house. You just need rest now, and you’ll be fine.” The handsome man’s assurance and steady tone helped me relax. I took a deep breath and eased back into the bed. Just then, an elderly woman entered the room hurriedly. “My lord, the soup is ready,” she announced. “Keep it there, I’ll feed her soon,” the man replied without looking at her. “Yes, my lord,” the elderly woman answered respectfully before leaving the room. From the way she addressed him, I could tell he was a man of wealth and status. Though I had calmed down, the commanding presence of the handsome stranger still made my heart race. His aura was powerful, almost intimidating, and the sharp lines of his face made him look dangerously beautiful. Then he said softly, “I’ll give you this soup now so you can take your medication and get some rest. You must be starving.” He handed me the soup before sitting quietly beside me. “Who are you?” I finally asked. He smiled and answered, “My name is Yusa. What’s yours?” The gentle way he smiled and spoke made me trust him instantly. “I’m Thera,” I replied softly. --- Yusa’s POV Doan told me that she would be fine—that her injuries were minor. She was still unconscious then. She had soft, radiant skin, red plump lips, and long, dark lashes. She was beautiful… even for a human. When she finally opened her eyes, she looked confused, her brows furrowed slightly. And those eyes—still grey, still mesmerizing. She was staring straight at me, studying my face, as if trying to understand who I was. Then, suddenly, she screamed and started backing away, clearly terrified. I stayed calm and said gently, “It’s alright. You’re safe here.” I could tell she was still in shock, trying to make sense of everything around her. But as soon as I explained things to her, she calmed down. I was relieved, at least for now. Soon enough, Martha came in and brought the soup for the injured lady. I handed it to her carefully. Before she ate, she asked me again about my identity. She looked timid and afraid earlier, but now she seemed bolder, more confident. “My name is Yusa,” I said gently. “What’s yours?” She hesitated for a moment, then replied, “My name is Thera.” --- Thera’s POV “Here’s the soup. Come on, take it before it gets cold,” Yusa said kindly. I tried to sit up, but my body ached all over. Even raising my hand was a struggle. Memories of the bandits attacking me flashed through my mind. Yusa saw me struggling and said softly, “It’s okay, I’ll help you.” He carefully helped me sit up and fed me while I tried to steady myself. His patience and calmness made me feel strangely safe. He fed me gently and patiently. His gaze lingered on me, calm yet intense, and it made me feel shy. I didn’t know why—it was strange. I wondered how a man so muscular and tall could have such a soft, tender touch. He fed me like a child until I finally said I was full. --- Yusa’s POV I fed her, and she looked so cute and beautiful. Why am I thinking about her this way? I just met her. But she made me feel something different, something I hadn’t felt in a long time. She stared at me with those big, curious eyes. I placed the bowl aside and said gently, “You should rest now. I’ll come check on you later. Good night.” --- Thera’s POV “Thank you,” I said softly. He nodded and left the room. “Good night,” I replied, watching him go. Yusa… what a beautiful name, I thought before drifting into sleep. ************************************* Yusa’s POV Many days have passed, and Thera and I have started getting along well. She talks and laughs more now—so easygoing, kind, and bright. I find myself growing attached to her. I feel something deep and strange, but I don’t understand it. I don’t know what this feeling is… or maybe I do, but I’m afraid to admit it. Thera was walking along the hallway stairs one afternoon when she suddenly slipped. I was nearby, lost in thought, when I heard her scream. My heart stopped. I ran toward the sound and found her on the floor, groaning in pain. “Thera! What happened? Are you alright?” I asked, kneeling beside her. She winced, clutching her ankle. “Ah… I think I just sprained it,” she said through clenched teeth. “Martha!” I shouted. “Get me a cloth and some water—now!” “Yes, my lord!” Martha replied, hurrying away. I gently lifted Thera in my arms and carried her back to her room. Doan came and tried to massage her ankle, but she refused to let him. He wanted to use his powers to help ease her pain, although it wouldn't heal it, it will just reduce the pain and help quicker recovery. He didn't want to scare her, so he stopped. Then Martha came in and helped him wrap Thera’s foot properly. During the process, Thera winced in pain and suddenly leaned against me, holding onto my arm for support. I steadied her gently, my hands firm but careful. “It’s okay,” I whispered. “You’ll be fine soon.” Doan saw this as an opportunity and he slowly helped ease her pain using his powers, and within minutes, her ankle began to heal. When I finally pulled back, she was still holding onto me, breathing softly against my shoulder. Realizing it, she quickly pulled away, her cheeks flushed. “I—I’m sorry,” she stammered. “There’s no need to apologize,” I said, smiling faintly. “Just… be more careful next time.” For a brief moment, our eyes met, and something unspoken passed between us. I tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and murmured, “You should rest now.” Thera only nodded and looked down shyly. Then, as I turned to leave, I paused I couldn't hold back any more.I softly called her name. When she looked up, I leaned in and kissed her gently. The kiss was slow and steady, Thera was surprised at the sudden kiss but their hearts couldn't hide that they had always yearned for each other. It was rhythmical and their heart beats synchronized as they inhaled and exhaled slowly. It was quite passionate and it showed fully that they needed each other even without them admitting it to each other.
