I woke up on a bed that was not my own but familiar. I sat up quickly to get a better look around, and my head began throbbing, causing me to wince in pain. I lifted my hand up to check for signs of injury and felt a small bump on the back of my head.
The door to the room opened, and Leif's tall sexy body filled the doorway. For a moment, I remembered why the bed looked so familiar but quickly pushed those memories to the back of my mind. I was sure I was blushing, so I turned my attention to the blanket, making like I was fixing it.
"Cassie, you are awake. How do you feel?" he asked me.
"My head hurts, and I have a vague memory of a woman," I tried to push further into my mind for more details but came up blank.
"Yes, a Council member," he said.
"Did she attack me?" I asked him.
