Today’s the day. You’ve been working hard, traveling, making new friends and enemies. You get dressed in the new outfit the campaign manager selected and look in the mirror. You say what crosses your mind. “Am I a winner or a loser?” The answer will come in seventeen hours, give or take. You eat a light private breakfast and go to your designated station. One of two car rides planned for today. It goes agonizingly slow as the world seems to have slowed down just for you. Finally, after spending what seemed like several lifetimes in the car, you arrive. The light from the sun and cameras are warming up the brisk morning as you walk into the election center. The election staff checks ID and voter registration. After they’re satisfied, they hand you your ballot. That simple paper ballot fee
