ISABELLA'S ARRIVAL

367 Words
The sun was setting as Isabella’s car pulled up to the gates of the mansion. She stepped out, her tailored coat fluttering in the breeze. The house loomed ahead, its pristine exterior a stark contrast to the darkness she felt within. A security guard approached her cautiously. “Ma’am, do you have an appointment?” Isabella’s expression remained calm but firm. “I’m here to see Leah. Tell her Isabella is waiting.” The guard hesitated before nodding and disappearing inside. Minutes later, Leah appeared at the door, her face a mixture of surprise and relief. She hurried down the steps. “Isabella? What are you doing here?” “I was worried,” Isabella admitted, placing a hand on Leah’s arm. “You didn’t call, and I couldn’t just sit and wait.” Leah’s shoulders relaxed slightly. “I’m sorry. Things have been… intense.” “Then I came at the right time,” Isabella said gently. “You don’t have to face this alone.” As they walked inside together, Isabella’s sharp eyes took in every detail of the house—the opulent decor, the cold atmosphere, and the underlying tension that seemed to hum through the air. They settled in Leah’s room, the small space a stark contrast to the rest of the mansion. Leah explained everything—her confrontation with her father, Jane’s hostility, and her determination to uncover the truth. Isabella listened intently, her heart aching for the young woman she had come to care for deeply. When Leah finished, Isabella leaned forward, her voice steady. “You’re brave, Leah. But you’re also vulnerable here. Jane and your father—they won’t make this easy for you.” “I know,” Leah admitted. “But I can’t back down now.” Isabella nodded. “Then I’ll stay. You don’t have to do this alone.” Leah’s eyes softened, a rare glimmer of gratitude shining through. “Thank you, Isabella.” As the two women solidified their alliance, a storm brewed in the house. Jane’s plans were already in motion, and Leah’s father was growing increasingly desperate to silence her. The battle for truth—and survival—had only just begun.
