I was running as fast as I could. Rain was yelling in my head to go back. She was fighting me for dominance, and it was exhausting. Eventually, I came to a ravine. I stopped abruptly. I can back up and jump, I thought to myself. As I turned around, there stood Lawrence. The hurt in his eyes was unmeasurable. I had hurt him. He doesn't understand I was saving him and the pack from disappointment. How could I ever live up to their expectations of me?
I shifted back so that I could talk to him. After I shifted, I passed out from exhaustion.
