His parents took the news calmly enough, especially after Cassandra said she’d talked to her prima and that Zoe had informed her it was probably all for the best. Tony’s sister Ava, however, didn’t appear nearly as satisfied with the story. “Seriously, you just left him there?” she demanded as she sat on the couch across from him, echoing Cassandra’s words from a few hours earlier. “What were we supposed to do?” Tony countered, wishing he didn’t feel so guilty.
