Chapter 5 Marcus

1337 Words
Marcus was annoyed. Brittany had been blowing up his phone since he told her he had to leave town for about a week, and she couldn’t come. She knew when he left her behind, he was with another woman, but it wasn’t like they were dating. Hell, she knew he was getting mated in just over a month. It should be beyond clear that she would never be more than a convenient lay. Finally answering his phone, he told her he would come over to her house and meet her. He could use a good time before he had to leave to go meet that little tease. His future Luna hated him, and he knew it. It would be nice though, when he took her innocence. That was the only good part of this pairing, he was to be Alpha regardless, it didn’t matter who he mated. His father had left him no choice though. He wanted this and threatened to disown him and make his younger brother Matt the next Alpha if he didn’t mate her. Everything was beyond screwed up. He wouldn’t give up Brittany though, and his dad knew it. He had just advised him to be discreet after the mating. That he didn’t need to create issues by screwing over another Alpha’s daughter and future Alpha’s sister. He didn’t care though, let them be mad he would be an Alpha, and he didn’t care what anyone thought. He didn’t want or need this alliance. Derrick was all talk, too scared to actually attack his pack. Dark Moon might be the largest pack, but his pack was large too. Shortly after arriving at Brittany’s, he was leading her to her bed. She was exactly what he needed. He sat down and the foot and led her to kneel in front of him. “Now be a good girl, and I’ll reward you.” She didn’t move to undo his pants though. Instead, she folded her arms and pouted. Great, she was going to play another one of her games. “Come on baby girl, I have a flight to catch, and I want to reward you before I leave.” Still, she didn’t move. “Brittany either stop pouting and start sucking or I’m leaving.” That made her move. She stood up and pointed at the door. “Fine if you want to leave then leave no one is stopping you.” Great just great he let his temper get the best of him and now she was throwing an even bigger tantrum. “Baby I’m sorry I said that I’m just annoyed I have to leave you. You know I hate being away from you for so long. Let’s just make the most of the time we have left.” he said while pulling her into his arms. Leaving her house, he was more annoyed now than he was when he left his. She had refused him, saying he’d never have her again if he didn’t cancel his trip and call off this mating. She wouldn’t share him with a mate, random girls were one thing, but she wouldn’t be in second place. Heading straight to the airport to catch his flight, he ordered five dozen pink and red roses to be delivered to her house. This wasn’t an uncommon occurrence. She was often angry at him, but it never lasted long. She was too obsessed with him to push him away. Turning his phone off, he sat down on his private plane and ordered a drink. The flight would only take a couple of hours, and he was being picked up at the airport by one of the Alpha’s sons. Four hours later, the plane landed, and Marcus turned his phone back on. It immediately went on with multiple text alerts. Eight out of ten texts were from Brittany. It seemed she had gotten her roses and was happy with him again. Just as he knew she would be. One was from his best friend Walker telling him nonsense about the girls he met last night. It was the last one though that really caught his attention. A text from his father saying “Call me as soon as you land, that’s an order.” Orders from his father often annoyed him, but he needed to stay in his father’s good graces. Dialing his father’s number, he sat back and waited. His father answered on the third ring. “Hello son, did you arrive safely to Blood Moon?” Really that’s what was so important he had to call. “Yes father, we just landed. I should be meeting either Andrew or Nathan shortly. ” He heard his father sigh, “Son, I don’t know how to tell you this, but Sam has been taken. Andrew and his trackers are out looking for her now. You’ll need to rent a car and drive yourself over. ” Now Marcus was pissed. He left Brittany all pissed at him for what? A missing mate? He was also annoyed he would have to drive himself. He was a visiting Alpha heir, there were certain niceties in place for such occasions. “If Sam isn’t even here, why shouldn’t I just return today? I’m only here because you demanded I drive her to our pack. ” Thirty minutes later, he was renting a car to drive himself. His father had demanded he go to her pack still and play the part of the grieving mate. He wasn’t a grieving mate though; he didn’t even like her. He was really annoyed that someone had taken what was his though. It didn’t matter they hadn’t mated yet; it was happening in four weeks. Driving straight over, he was once again annoyed when no one met him at the door. They clearly had no respect for his position as an Alpha heir. Walking to where he knew Alpha Jacob’s office was, he quickly knocked on the closed door. Upon entering, he was met by both Alpha Jacob and Charlie. “Marcus, son, I’m glad you’ve arrived safely.” Her father told him cordially. What a load of bull. If he was so worried, he should have been escorted as planned. “Thank you, my father has informed me of the situation. What do we know?” He hated playing this game. He should be on his way back to his pack, at least there he could be entertained by Brittany or Nicole. If he was lucky, even both together, and he knew Brittany would have been pleased with him with his early return. Letting his frustrations show, knowing the men with him would believe it was for Sam, he paced the room. The two men had little more information than his father. The Elder Council was arriving shortly though, so he had to wait around appearing to care. After the council finally concluded their meeting, it was decided he would travel with Jacob and Charlie to the meeting in five days. Great, he was stuck. He couldn’t return to his pack until after the meeting, when he would return with his father, who would also be in attendance. The meeting was in six days, and they wouldn’t leave until the seventh. He wouldn’t be able to be intimate with any of his playthings for over a week. Leaving the Alpha house shortly after the council, he made his way a couple streets over to the pack house. They had rooms set up for visiting wolves. They also had a fully staffed kitchen who would prepare meals for him. If he had to stay, he would at least be comfortable. Upon arriving, he gave his order to the kitchen and instructed them to deliver it when it was ready. They were quick to agree, believing him to be a grieving mate. Well, that’s nice at least, he mused as he pulled out his phone to text Brittany. She would be pleased Sam was not returning with him just yet.
