Aira

A week to go

Aira couldn't wait for her birthday. She had a week or 168 hours to go. Can you tell she is excited?

She is turning 18 years old in this life. It's the age when a werewolf can sense their mate or soul mates. Most find them around 18 if she truly loves you as she supposedly loves all her children. Though Aira doesn't fell that she does somedays. She hopes the goddess will give her a mate that is kind and loving towards her - nothing like her pack members. Even gender wasn't an issue for Aira since she likes both women and men. She highly doubted that her mate was in this pack, but she still had this sinking feeling that Alaric was her mate kept rearing its head. If it was true then she would have no chance at true happiness in this life.

On the other hand, is Alaric wasn't her mate she hoped her mate lived as far away from the pack as possible. It would be nice if Aira could not look back at this place. The only people she'd miss would be her mummy, second family in The Moon Pride pack and her best friend Camelia.

Eli is human - a small 5ft 3" yet still intimidating. Strawberry blonde hair, golden-brown eyes. With a button nose covered in freckles and plump cheeks. Eli appears kind when in public but she can be a bit of a monster - scary and a bit sadistic - especially when she is p!ssed off. It's why she has been kept in the dark about Aria's abuse.

Eli's angry side would make the devil himself p!ss his pants, even and an alpha wolf would run away with their tail between his legs. Although they deserve to be at the end of Eli's anger. Aria didn't want the pack to see Eli angry. Sometimes karma works in Aria's favour or at least it should. She knew the pack will get what's coming to them eventually.

Aira met Eli when she was 12 years old. Aira sat in front of the class that day. Eli decided to sit next to Aira. instead of the usual Hi. She came out and said " Are you a lesbian? You look like a lesbian" By that time Aira came out to her family that she was bisexual though she leans more towards women. Maybe it was the pride flag trainers and floral dress. Aira had no issue with some else known so she simply nodded her head yes.

Eli squealed in happiness and deemed herself Aira's best friend. Aria had no problem gaining a new friend. Especially after all her old friends ditched her thinking she would make a move on them. At the time Aira thought they were gross girls going through puberty and not her cup of tea. She like the more mature female and male form.

A few years later it came time to come clean to Eli about being a werewolf. Since the typical wolf would shift at 16 years old. Though she shifted much earlier not that she told anyone. It was getting harder to hind her wolf tendencies from her. Eli took a while to come to terms with the news. After her "first" shift Eli demanded to know everything. Even the intimate stuff like pregnancy, s*x etc.She agreed to keep Aira's secret between them, the pair continued on with their lives like normal. Aira needed to tell her soon she would be leaving to go on her mate hunt. Hopefully, her mate wasn't in the pack. It would be the perfect excuse to get away from her tormentors. Aria knew Eli would be sad that Aira would be gone but she would understand, right? She knows about mates and how important they are. The hardest part would be telling her, she didn't plan to be back anytime soon. When Aria finds her mate she plans to stay at their pack and never bring them back to this back. The place was a constant reminder of her nightmares. The news would kill her. May 14th would be a day to remember.

Aira sighed as she finished her homework. It was still early on a Friday night. Aira didn't want to be stuck in the house with Kerian. Kerian is home somewhere. Mummy Wynter is downstairs. Aira could stand the thought of being with Kerian right now. She glanced at her phone on the bed as the thought of visiting her second family came to mind. They live the next town over. Aria hadn't seen them in months. A sleepover was long overdue. With that thought in mind, Aira texted Eli that they are going out before heading to the shower to clean up.

Once Aira is all fresh and clean she put on some simple black skinny jeans and a rainbow tank top. She styled her hair in a high ponytail. She headed downstairs with her phone in hand as it vibrated from receiving a text from Eli.

Eli: Where we going?

A: Just going to The Moon Pride pack for the weekend

Eli: Got it. nothing fancy right?

A: Pick you up in a bit.

Eli: See you soon babe.

"I am going out," Aria said to Mummy Wynter as she put her phone in her pocket as she was entering the kitchen. Mummy Wynter was doing a crossword puzzle at the island. She glanced in Aria's direction before putting down her newspaper. With a raised eyebrow she asks "Where are you going?""Eli and I are going to Moon Pride for the weekend." Aira replied while cutting herself a slice of leftover birthday cake. Yum - chocolate cake. Mummy Wynter's favourite. "Okay, be careful. Don't text and drive. Use condoms and not to much Alcohol" Mummy Wynter lists everything off on her fingers with a dramatic pause. "Am I forgetting something?" "Yes!! You forgot to tell me to remain a virgin and not to drink at all. What kind of mother are you?" Aira playfully said back. Aira's face felt like it was on fire due to the blush taking over her checks. Mummy Wynter laughs at her comment. Wynter kissed her check and proceeded to push Aira out of the door completely ignoring her question. 

"Enjoy yourself peanut. Tell them I say hello and I miss them." Mummy Wynter proceeded to slam the door on Aira's face. Aira scoffed and banged on the door for a few seconds. Mummy Wynter just burst out laughing wholeheartedly on the other side of the door causing a small grin to appear on Aira's face. 

After 30 minuets of singing along to her favourite artist Aira arrived at Eli's house.

 Aira pressed her horn so Eli knew she was there. It took a few seconds if that for Eli to come out. She threw her overnight bag in the backseat. Eli seemed a little on edge at the moment. Aira asked "Are you alright?" She stared at Eli waiting for her reply before driving off. Aira thought she knew the answer already but wanted to hear her say it. " Can we just get away from here?" Eli replied, not even looking at her mother waving at the window. Aria knew that would be the only answer she would get at the moment. The pair wore similar outfits. Eli looked more like the sexier one of the pair she wore a black cocktail dress with a rainbow belt around the waist with black pumps. They always wore a similar colour scheme. Weird right? Can you say, twins?

Eli yelled her goodbyes from the car window still not looking at her mother in the window. Aira gave her mother a small wave goodbye before pulling back on to the road again. Eli still seemed tense even after her house was no longer in sight. Aira started to sing a song she knew would calm Eli down even if the song wasn't the happiest.

There were arrows and daggers, and the touch of the burned; From players to skaters in an instant were turned And the immigrant queen was The first To fall under the knife

With two arrows in him, the King crawled to her side. While his mother, she pleaded for the Lord to subside. But he'd taken their word, and to break it meant no right to life

Towards the end of the song, Eli seemed to have calmed down enough for conversation. "So what's the plan for tonight peanut?" She asked."Well, first you need to grab my phone and call Alpha Hugo for me. I can't enter his lands without permission." Aira didn't really need to do this in her current life since Hugo gave her permission to come and go as she pleased. It was more of a habit from her other life. Eli did as she asked. It was sort of a routine for the pair when heading to Moon Pride. Eli placed it on speaker before rummaging around in her bag for her smoked bacon stirps from a container. Don't ask why. It who she is.

Alpha Hugo answered the phone as Eli put a strip in her mouth. 

"Hello, stranger." Hugo jokes. "You better be calling to say your coming. Or I might just have to come and grab you myself." Hugo continued sounding like he would follow through. The pair in the car started laughing hysterically. "Yes, We are coming" the pair replied in unison. "We are spending the whole weekend," Eli explained. There was a loud high pitch scream in the background. "Just calling to give you a heads up, Hu" Aira said over the screaming.   "Just calling to give you a heads up, Hu" Aira said over the screaming. Hu laughs in response and says he will see them soon. The call disconnects. A few minutes later they arrived at the border. Aira gave the guards her information and they let them head straight to the packhouse.   

It took a further 30 minutes to reach the packhouse. after making the final left turn up the dirt road leading to the packhouse and dive up to the large metallic black gate. Another set of guards ask who they are. It appeared that this pack was in the middle of something big. They wouldn't let that put a damper on their weekend. Aira didn't get the chance to stop the car before someone opened the diver's door and pulled her out. Thankfully the car wasn't travelling that fast and Eli managed to put on the emergency brake. 

"Hu, let me go!" Aira pleaded. She didn't like when he did this to her. She disliked being bound like this. she needs to free her arms Hu's familiar scent wasn't having its usual calming effects. Hugo was a big guy, it was part of his characteristic of being an alpha. He had muscles like a human bodybuilder.  Aira was struggling to restrain herself, the more Hu held her. She could feel her dormant magical power start to circulate in her blood.   

Hu hissed in pain. though if you weren't that close you wouldn't have heard it. He dropped Aira to the ground. Aira whispered so only Hu heard "Sorry" She kept looking at the floor as she slowed her breathing and waited for the magic to be still again. Eli didn't seem to understand what just happened which Aira was thankful for.  Hu would later ask Aira some awkward questions or at least that's what she thought he would do. She didn't know if he knew her secret like her father or Alpha Marcus did. 

"My niece better be here! Or I will drive to grab her." A female voice yelled from the packhouse. Thank the goddess for Persephone. Aira thought to herself. The attention would now be off what just happened between her and Hu.  A very pregnant Luna Persephone came running over. Hugo's mate and Aira's second mother.

Persephone laughs as Aira smothers her with kisses. Being mummy Wynters twin, she shares all the same characteristics the only noticeable difference is their eye colour instead of blue eyes Persephone had green eyes. "I missed you guys so much," Aira said glossing over what just happened. Persephone smiled sadly for a moment. "We missed you as well. Come inside, you to Eli." There was no hint of sadness in Persephone's voice when she spoke. 

Eli came over and held Aira's hand before the pair followed after Persephone and Hu. As soon as the pair passed the threshold there was a vicious growl from behind them. It most likely came from Aira's cousin Amelia. She was starring and Aira and Eli. Aira knew all too well what that growl meant. Aira was quick to let go of Eli's hand. Aira turned to see a not so happy Amelia. She marched towards the friends and pulled away Eli from Aira. Once Aira was far enough away for Amelia liking she growled "mate" into the crock of Eli's neck inhaling her scent. One of them growled in pleasure. The next thing anyone knew the pair were kissing. 

Cheers erupted from the entire room because the future alpha had found her mate. The pair blush once they stopped kissing because of the attention the pair was not getting. "All hail the new luna" Aira teasingly chanted. causing the whole room to cheer as well. Amelia came over and gave Aira an almost bone-crushing hug. "Sorry, we missed your birthday and not visiting in a while. You could have met your mate a lot sooner."Aira forced out, her voice sounded hoarse from the lack of oxygen being able to fill her lungs thankfully her magic power was staying dormant this time. "It's fine peanut. I have her now that all that matters." Amelia said breaking the hug. A sheepish look comes over Amelia. "Sorry for nearly going full wolf on you." "No need to apologise," Aira reassured. She was truly happy for her cousin and best friend. Aira couldn't wait to find her own mate and the first kiss and everything else after. Amelia let Aira go. 

Eli came running over to Aira. "OMG peanut, I have a mate. It's exactly who I hoped they would be." Eli practically squealed. She has had a crush on Amelia for the longest time. Aira couldn't help but be excited for her friend. "I know butter. Aira cheered along with her friend. "You will be a great Luna when Amelia becomes Alpha."I am so happy I think I might puke" Eli said using her normal sense of humour. Everyone present from the pack came up to congratulate the alpha heir on finding her mate. Persephone kisses Amelia's forehead as Hu messes with her hair. 

Once the excitement had died down the family went up to the alpha's quarters. They were greeted by Eric and Wyatt. Aira is soon pulled to the sofa for a hug from the pair. Eric is Hugo's son and Amelia's older brother. The Alpha gene wasn't passed to Eric like it was his sister. Wyatt is Eric's mate. They were happily expecting a pup soon. Eric and Wyatt couldn't wait to mate and completed the bond not long after they met resulting in a 6-month pregnant Eric. 

It wasn't uncommon for male wolves to get pregnant. Werewolves are separated into 2 different categories T at birth - Dominate or submissive. Wolves used the terms, not like people who part take in b**m things. It was purely about the dominate who supplied the sperm for the submissive to get pregnant. In very rare cases a dominate she-wolf is mated to a sub male wolf. The male would carry the pup. in the case of lesbians and gay men the submissive partner would carry the pup. Female dom's use a special device to help impregnate their partner, Amelia would be able to get Eli pregnant. 

All werewolf kids learn in s*x education that the dominate female carries sperm instead of eggs. How the device female doms use is a closely guarded secret by pack elder. Aira was amased by how Artimis made werewolves in this life. It really was really something. 

"Why haven;t you visited in so long? Is everything okay? How's Wynter doing? Did she have a good birthday? We should of spent it together. I am the worst sister ever. She must hate me. I have -" Persephone started ramberling. "Relax honey" Hugo interupter the rant. "Mom your stressed about nothing." Amelia added. "Auntie, Mummy is fine. She said to say she misses you guys loads. pretty sure she will plan a family get together soon." Aira reasured Persephone. She relaxes a bit into the hug from Hu. "we're sorry we didn't visit in a while. Peanut had a lot of excuses of why we couldn't. I was starting to get suspicious." Eli says glancing at Aira from her mates lap. Everyones gaze turns to Aira causing her to blush knowing they are now focused on her. They were smart enough not to bring up the abuse up in front of Eli, because they have seen Eli go from 0 to 100 super fast. 

Eric yawned. Wyatt excused him and Eric. So his pregant mate could get some much needed rest. Eli and ameila are next to leave for the night. Only persephone, Hugo and Aira remained. "Why don't you leave the pack and come here?" Hu asked."You know why. Mummy wont leave without Kerian and I wont leave without mummy. Kerian is my main tormentor and soon to be beta so he wont leave." Aira paused to catch her breath for a second. "I just have to wait a week then I canhave a valid reason to  leave which is my mate hunt." Aira tried to reassure her worried aunt and uncle. They left after that. They seemed disappointed in Aira's decision, yet didn't say anything about it. Aira was then alone with her thoughts. 

After sitting in the living room for a while. Aira sent a quick good night text to mummy Wynter before heading to her room to get some sleep. Aira checked the time before sleep consumed her. 

12 am

6 days to go until Aira's birthday.
