Chapter 2: OMFG GREAT!

“Daniel!” I said my heart skipping a beat at his name

I was still pushed up against the wall. My whole body was sparking against his touch. We just stood there for moon goddess knows how long. A drunk girl then fell and tipped half her drink on Daniel’s white shirt. As soon as Daniel turned letting me go and helping the girl, I made a run for it. I ran trying to find my parents to get me the hell out of here but instead, I found my brother. I ran up to him.

“Liv are you alright?” he asked looking at me worried

“yes, where is mum and dad” I replied looking around

“they left about 25 minutes ago, why?” he asked worried

“I want to go home I’m not feeling the best” I replied I felt horrible lying, but I didn’t want him to know HIS BEST FRIEND IS MY MATE!

“sure, just wait at the car for me,” he said walking off

I was walking to the car when I felt someone grab my hand. It was Paige.

“what the f**k Paige you scared the s**t out of me,” I said hold my chest

“Sorry I was just wondering if you could drive me home?”

She asked looking down.

“Paige, what’s the matter? I said

“I… I…. I found my mate,” she said

“That’s great news why aren’t you happy and jumping around?” I asked looking at her.

“Because my mate is…. Josiah” she replied looking away

Josiah was Paige’s crush since he asked to the winter ball in middle school.

“that’s horrible news Paige,” I said trying to hold in my laugh 

“Oliva it’s not funny stop,” she said glaring at me

“Have you found your mate yet?” she asked with attitude

I forgot about that I just froze and stared at her. I have never lied to my best friend, but I didn’t want her to know.

“No, no I haven’t,” I said looking away from her

“Olivia,” Jason said coming around the corner, “I told you to wait at the car”

“Sorry, can we drop Paige home please?” I asked pouting and using my puppy eyes.

“Fine hurry up,” he said rolling his eyes

He always falls for my puppy eyes. As I was walking to the car, I saw Daniel sitting in the passenger’s seat. I have never been so nervous in my entire life. He just stared at me until I reached the car getting in the back seat.

“Why is it feel so awkward right now?” Jason said looking at Me then Daniel then Paige.

“Why don’t we put the radio on,” Daniel said turning the radio on 186.9 changing the subject  

The whole way Daniel kept looking at me through the rear-view- mirror. I just looked out the window the entire time. But when I did look back at him my stomach would fill with butterflies and I had an urge to kiss him. Soon we came to Paige’s house I got out the car and walked her to the door giving her a hug a saying goodbye, I would see her in the morning for training. Every Saturday we had to learn how to fight and use self-defence at the packhouse it was so much fun. The whole ride was just awkward I had only just found out Daniel was my mate and now I have to sit in a car with him. We then soon dropped him off. As soon as he had got out of the car and started walking to the door I jumped out of the back and got in the passenger’s seat putting on my seat belt. The whole way home was a peaceful silence so peaceful I fell asleep. When I got home, I went and took a shower. Wiping my makeup off and getting my pyjamas on. Tomorrow was Training day I loved training. Saturday was my favourite day of the week. And Daniel never came to training, which meant I didn’t have to see him!

*The Next Day*

Beep Beep Beep my alarm was going off. I yarned and stretched. Tapping stop on my phone. I huffed getting up and walking to my shower. Turning the taps on and getting undressed. I couldn’t keep my mind off Daniel my wolf and I missed him and wanted him right now. I just don’t know how to tell Jason, and would he react in a good or bad why? I got out of the shower turning the taps off wrapping a towel around me and putting my hair in a tight ponytail, washing my face and brushing my teeth. I walked into my room and picked out a purple sports bra and sports singlet, short black skins/bike pants. My black ankle socks and purple Nikes. I loved purple. I grabbed an apple and some water for breakfast. “BYE!” I said walking out the door, grabbing my keys and heading to my car. I soon arrived at Paige’s house she opened the car door and hopped in. Paige was about the same height as me. She had olive skin, green mixed with blue eyes her hair was short blonde at the top and light green at the bottom. She dyed her hair for the Christmas holidays, and it won’t come out. She was wearing bright green leggings, a black sports bra and black sports singlet.

“you excited!” she said smiling and jumping happily  

“yes!” I said stopping at a red light

The whole way we talked about school tomorrow until we got to the packhouse. We both got out of the car walking to the field. It’s then I smelt the sweet of Rain and Pine. Mate! Mate! Chloe was chanting in my head. Daniel my heart was pumping so fast I thought it would rip out of my chest. I just stood there waiting for him to appear. And no longer than a minute he comes out with the pack warriors and Jason behind him. We just stared at each other until he stopped 10 feet in front of me.

“EVERYONE WILL BE TRAINING TOGETHER TODAY! YOU WILL ALL FORM A CIRCLE, I WILL CALL YOUR NAMES OUT, AND YOU WILL FIGHT UNTIL I SAY! Daniel yelled

Everyone obeyed forming a circle. It had almost been 5 minutes and I still hadn’t been chosen. All Daniel did was stare at me then call out other names. I glared at him then he yelled “EVERYONE DO A LAP AROUND THE TERRITORY!” everyone started running. I was about to run off when someone grabbed my hand sending sparks up my arm.

“What’s the matter and why the f**k are you wearing those f*****g shorts?” Daniel asked looking worried still holding my hand

“Isn’t it obvious! and I can wear what I want!” I said growling

“I don’t want you to get hurt, and I don't want you to wear those shorts anymore!” he said growling back 

I yanked my arm back “I won't get hurt, AND I WILL KEEP WEARING THESE SHORT'S IF I WANT!” I replied growling and walking away.

As soon as I was walking back the pack just finished. They were huffing and puffing. Daniel then came in front of the group. “WE WILL BE CONTINUING OFF WHERE WE LEFT!” He growled.

“ELIZABETH” “OLIVIA!” he shouted

Great, he put me with the worst person on the planet.

“READY TO FIGHT!” he shouted
