Chapter 2 Blanchette

I watched the red tinged eyed vermin cautiously as he came closer not knowing his intent. I was trying to keep my breathing controlled, but the closer he got the harder that was. His short jet black hair looked tousled by the wind, his body was tense. “I just want to help you to the bath, you are in no condition to do it yourself,” his melodic voice and fake concern getting on my nerves. “No thanks to you,” I spit at him, I notice a slight flinch as if I wounded him. “Yes little wolf, no thanks to me, but I would like to make up for that,” he tried to sound genuine but it just sounded fake to me. “Who even are you,” I asked my curiosity getting the best of me. “Aloysius, but everyone calls me Al,” his response was immediate and without any tone. “Aloysius,” I tasted his name in my mouth and his eyes started flowing a brighter green with less red. “Can I know your name, please, little wolf,” please out of his mouth sounded foreign. “Blanchette, no one calls me anything,” the venom was in my voice before I could control it. “Hmm, Blanchette, let’s get you cleaned up so you can be more comfortable,” he watched me carefully. “I can do it myself,” my growl sounds weak eventually goes through my mind. “Little wolf,” I was getting used to his nickname for me but his stern voice made me jump. “Stop being hard headed and let me help you,” his voice softened. I could feel blood trickling from a wound on my head. Black dots kept forming in my vision. Standing made the spots worse but I wasn’t going to back down. In a flash my world was spinning and I felt my body pitching forward. Strong cool arms were catching me as I fell. “Little wolf, please, let me help you,” his voice was soothing while he whispered in my ears. I couldn’t do it myself so I gave in and nodded. He walked me to the bathroom never letting go of me. I wanted to protest but the coolness of his skin felt amazing on my feverish skin. He set me down on the edge of the tub and turned the water to warm. “I know it’s a lot to ask, but please trust me not to hurt you,” his coaxing voice and the blood loss just made me submit again. “It’s going to hurt, but I need to be clean,” I weakly responded. He slowly undressed me making sure not to touch me inappropriately. The minute my body was under the water I hissed with the pain. The water immediately turned red with my blood. He handed me a bar of soap and held me steady while I washed the wounds. I saw red tinted water splashing onto the ground. “The floor,” I whined. “It’s okay little wolf don’t worry I’ll get it cleaned up later. Work on getting you cleaned first,” he soothed. “I need help with my hair I can’t reach it hurts,” I whispered quietly. He grabbed my hands and leaned them on the wall to hold myself up. I watched his hands grab the shampoo and all of a sudden felt cool hands on my scalp. He gently rubbed the soap into my waist length hair being careful of my wounds. The suds tinted red, as they rinsed I saw the water changing to more of a pink color. “Your bleeding is slowing down little wolf,” he said gently. “I’m finally healing, thank you,” I whispered the thanks. “Come on let’s get you out and dried,” he had a towel ready and helped me wrap my hair. And then wrapped my body in the softest towel I’ve ever felt. He walked me back into the room and sat me in the only chair not covered in my blood. I cringed from him as soon as I sat down feeling scared again. He noticed my apprehension and kneeled in front of me. “No one will hurt you again little wolf,” his eyes lowered to his hands on his knees. “Why,” I asked quietly.
