When I noticed firefighters close to the apartment, my mouth was opening and closing as my eyes widened in surprise. The room of Dr. Trafelski was on fire. She just gave me a call a short while ago!
This caught me off guard. Dr. Trafelski wanted to inform me of something! And someone stopped that from occurring.
Perhaps she witnessed something? Until she got silenced.
Medical personnel arrived outside with a gurney carrying a person who was wrapped in a white blanket. I didn't even need to look closely to recognize it.
Not only did I lose a key source of information, but I also haven't found any other leads in this case. I'm currently in a bad situation.
All I can rely on is assumptions.

Before I returned home, Harper gave me a copy of the autopsy report. I also have to write a report on what I discovered and what I concluded.
Even though I'm exhausted, this is the first significant case I've been given.
I laid my bag on my bed and got ready to take a cold shower. I took a bath, changed into my nightgown, and then sat down to finish the report.
I received a back hug from someone before I began to write. I stroked his hand as I turned to face him.
I told him, "I didn't hear you walk in." His name is Spencer Lewis and is the man I've been seeing for a while. He gave me a soft kiss on the top of my head and in a worried tone asked, "Have you eaten yet? It seems you've been busy with work."
I smiled lightly and reassured him, "I did eat. I like how you're concerned for me though." He gave me a quick kiss on the lips and said, "Okay, if you say so." and then left.

Los Angeles Police Department
POLICE REPORT
Case No: 22-1-00043
Date: 10 July
Detective In Charge: Vivian Claymore
Victim: Diego Martinez
Witness: Gabriel Dixon
Time of Death: 12:39
Prime Suspect: Edna Trafelski(Dead)
Details of the Incident:
Diego Martinez, the victim, was discovered deceased in Salazar Research Laboratory Operating Room 2. The forensics determined that he died sometime between midnight and one o'clock.
His body was deformed; his left ear had been replaced by a dog's ear, and his eyes were similarly bloodshot. His lower half had turned into a dog's lower body. His blood contained sizable amounts of Amphetamine, and several syringes of the drug were observed close to the scene of the crime.
However, blood loss is the actual cause of death; the Amphetamine only accelerated it.
Gabriel Dixon, the lab's janitor, was the first person to see the body at 4:34 in the morning. No traces of fingerprints or footprints were found at the crime scene.
At 12:45, Edna Trafelski, a colleague of his, was seen on surveillance video; she was easily identifiable.
But then, on July 10, her apartment blew up with her inside, causing a fire. Did she feel guilty about the murder?
Conclusion:
Insufficient Evidence. However, Edna Trafelski is thought to have murdered the victim because she was the only one who entered the operating room, which was the only way of entry.
The lead detective disagrees because Edna Trafelski entered the operating room gloveless and empty-handed, there were no fingerprints found at the crime scene. Additionally, it was stated in a previous case related to this that 'The surveillance cameras were angled, so they didn't capture anything,' but it wasn't the case this time.
