Names on this list included Laurence Nelson, Edna Trafelski, Barrett Roberts, Stella Watson, and Grace Moore, all of whom were present yesterday.
Lucky for me, Stella Watson is just right by the corner. I suppose I ought to go see her first.
I turned left into the suburbs, and her house is just a block away. I parked my car in front of the gate.
When I rang the doorbell at her gate, It was almost daytime. I wondered why Diego would stay in the lab after everyone else had left. It was a question that had been nagging at the back of my mind.
Someone opened the door and a woman in her 40s approached the gate, she queried, "Hello, May I ask what you need at this hour?". "Hello Miss, mh name is Vivian Claymore, and I work for the Los Angeles Police Department. May I speak with Dr. Stella Watson involving a homicide?" I showed her my badge, and her eyes widened.
"Oh, I am Stella Watson. I'm sorry detective, but let's speak inside instead." She apologized and opened the gate. I assured her that everything was fine. Most people have no idea I'm a detective, and I deeply respect people who cooperate with me.
When I went inside her house, I was impressed by how well kept it was, which says a lot about who she is. She asked me to sit down on the sofa so she could make some snacks for us. I nodded and simply granted her request, she's nice.
She returned a short time later with a plate of bisquits and two coffe cups. I took the cup and inhaled the aroma as she sat down next to me. I enjoy coffee.
"So, detective, what did you want to speak about?" She inquired, softly smiling. I almost forgot to tell her what it was. I took a sip of the coffee and responded, "I was wondering if you knew anything about a recent homicide of your colleague, Diego Martinez." Her eyes widened and her smile vanished from her face.
She stuttered, "W-what? But I just saw him a few hours ago! You've got to be kidding, right detective?" But I frowned and shook my head and responded, "I am not joking, Dr. Watson." She dropped the biscuit she was holding and she looked like she was crying. To me, It seemed realistic.
I interrogated her, "Do you know why Dr. Martinez stayed in the lab while you all left to go home?" She tried to gather herself and responded, "Well, he mentioned that he wanted to stay for a while to experiment with Amphetamine and utilizing it on a lab rat, he wasn't satisfied with the results." She wiped her tears. I see...he voluntarily stayed here, I'll note this after I leave.
But Amphetamine...is this purely coincidental? It's not possible. This murderer is killing everyone by using their line of work. But why did the politician die of drugs? I have a lot of questions.
"Did he have anything else to tell you?" I inquired, putting my hand on her shoulder, and she just shook her head. I sighed, this is gonna be a tough case.
"Well, thank you for your time, Dr. Watson." I shook her hand, and gave her my business card, "If you have any other information for me, feel free to call." I got up the sofa and before I left, I told her, "I hope you recover from this, Miss."
I went to my car after leaving her house. I made a note of Dr. Watson's information in the folder thay Harper gave me. However, I still can't piece them together.
I've finished questioning one; four more remain. I'm hoping that these other meetings will help me understand what really occured.
I turned on the engine and drove into the city to meet Dr. Moore.
