Chapter Thirteen: Confession

539 Words
~    “How’re you and Brad doing?” I ask Mia once we’re inside Rue21.     “Perfect as always. How about you and Mr. Hottie?”     “We’re doing great, actually. We head towards the shoes.     “These are so you.” Mia hands me a pair of white flats.     “And these you.” I hand her blue heels.     “You so know my style.”     “As always.” We laugh as we head towards the tops. “Do you think Brad would love?” Mia holds up a blue and white striped low cut shirt.     “If he wants the boobs, sure.”     “Girl!”     “Hey, you asked.”     “You’re so you.”     “I surely hope so.”     “Exactly what I mean.”     “But you know you love me.”     “Always!” We give another a kissy face, laughing afterwards.     “I honestly hope that Brian and I work out this time Mia.” Mia stops her search for clothes and looks at me.     “You really think so?”     “I really hope so. I mean...I know the past may haunt us...But...You know…”     “Funny.”     “How come?”     “Brian tells Brad the exact same thing.”     He does?...Now I know I’m not the only one that feels the way I do whenever I’m around him.    “Well...That’s great to know. More than great.”     “I just want you to be happy and not to worry June.”     “He tells me the same thing.”     “Really?”     “All the time.”     “Hey, that at least shows he cares.”     We go back to searching for clothes when I finally say without thinking, “He told me he loved me.”     Mia drops everything she’s doing and gives me a shocked look. “He told you for the first time?!”     “For the first time.”     “OMG, OMG, OMG!!!”     “Ssshhh!” I try to throw something at her, but she already moved where I couldn’t get her.    “Why didn’t you tell me this?!”     “I didn’t think it was that important-”     “You’re crazy! That’s the most important thing in your life! Do you know how long it took for Brad to tell me he loved me?” Before I could answer, Mia goes back to her speech. “Three years June! Three years! And you’re acting like this isn’t some big deal, when in reality: It is!”     “Okay, okay! I get what you mean!”     And I did. I really did knowing that Brian does love me tells me, shows me, that it’s not my imagination anymore. Him and I are finally real once again. And nothing, I tell you, nothing’s going to ever come between us again. I’m not going to make that same mistake again for as long as I live.     At this very moment, I promise I won’t. ~
