SOLANE
My head slowly turned to the guard. He was already staring at me. His feet slowly started taking steps toward me, causing a stir of panic in my chest.
He stopped, closing the distance between us.
“You forgot to take back your ID.” He said, extending his hand to me.
“Oh! Ehm…Thanks!” My fingers grabbed the ID from his hand.
His feet went back to his post, and a breath slipped free of my lips.
Turning around, my steps headed inside.
I walked the long road to the school's main building, witnessing many students. Some were in groups and some were alone.
The Wolves Academy had a simple uniform. White shirt and violet skirt with white stripes, whereas for boys, it was violet long pants with the same white stripes.
I had never worn such a colorful dress before. We hunters only owned black clothes.
Upon stepping into the main hall, my gaze noticed a group of seven girls standing in a vertical line. Their hands were crossed behind their waist while they were staring at the white marble floor.
“Are you a new admission?” A hand wrapped around my shoulders.
My gaze shifted to the person, and it was a girl. Red long hair and hazel eyes.
“I am Kelly, a member of the disciplinary committee.” She smiled, finishing her introduction.
“Come with me!” Her force on my shoulders pushed me to those seven girls standing in a vertical line.
“Stand with them.” She commanded.
I quietly listened, not wanting to draw attention on my first day. Soon, two more girls joined Kelly.
“Welcome, new students!” She crossed her arms over her chest.
“As a member of the disciplinary committee, we maintain rules and regulations among our students. The Wolves Academy is very strict when it comes to discipline.” Her voice sounded malice.
The other girls standing in the line with me were all new students. For some reason, they appeared to be scared of her.
“Let me recite the rules for you.” Kelly’s hands dropped to her sides and she stepped forward.
“Rule number 1. You aren't allowed to step foot outside your dorm after eleven.”
“Rule number 2. Always obey the disciplinary committee.”
“Rule number 3. You can't wear jewelry or carry anything special during academy hours.”
My chest tightened. The jade bracelet around my wrist was the only way to block my scent.
“Rule number 4. On breaking a rule, the disciplinary committee will decide on your permission. If you refuse, you're expelled.”
“Rule number 5. This one is made by me for all our new girls. Rizz Sylvester is the head of our disciplinary committee and my boyfriend. If I ever catch you drooling over him, I'll make your life hell, trust me.” She said with a smiling face.
My eyes could tell she was abusing her powers as a member of the committee.
“Now, let's check your belongings.” She approached the first girl in the line.
“W-Why are you doing this?” The girl inquired in her timid voice.
“You can't question me, sweetie!” Her eyes darkened, threatening the girl.
“We’re seizing all your extra items. Take them back after academic hours from the main hall of our dorm.” She explained it to us.
“The Wolves Academy helps us transform into great wolves, enhancing our strengths. We don't want the students to waste their time on materialistic things.”
“We're going to graduate as strong wolves and kill those hunters.” Her voice spoke, expressing her rage.
The Wolves Academy was teaching students to fight against us. Lozark Aylestone wanted to achieve a strong force to wipe off the entire Red Hunters’ village.
Kelly seized earrings and a wristwatch from the girl standing before her. One by one, she seized everyone's items.
As she was coming closer, my heart was sinking to the bottom. I wrapped my fingers around the bracelet on my wrist.
The moment my bracelet leaves my wrist, my scent will be unleashed.
“So what do you have?” Kelly stood before the girl standing next to me.
Her fierce, scheming eyes glanced at every item on the girl's body. She seized her ring, then focused her gaze on her neck. On the other hand, my breath was stuck in my throat as she was almost done with the girl.
“Give me your chain, sweetheart!” Kelly commanded the girl.
“I never take it out. This chain belongs to my late mother.” The girl replied, hiding the chain beneath her palms.
“Did you just disobey my command in front of everyone?” Her brows furrowed.
The girl gulped and stepped back.
“I didn't mean to…this chain is special.” The girl was shaking.
Kelly’s smiling face turned dark. In the blink of an eye, she clutched the wrist of that girl and dragged her to the front.
The girl stumbled and dropped to the floor.
“You all should witness what happens when someone disobeys the disciplinary committee.” Her voice enveloped the four huge walls of the main hall.
I was holding back my urge to hit her face.
She revealed her claws, closing the distance between her and the girl.
“What's with the fuss?” A voice startled Kelly.
“Rizz!” She looked in the direction of his voice and uttered the name.
He revealed himself, slowly taking steps towards us.
He was tall around 6 '2 feet, wearing the same uniform as the other boys but in a slightly different way. One side of his shirt was tucked inside and the other was loosened with sleeves rolled up to his forearms. The first three buttons were opened, exposing his clean shaved chest.
His dark hair was a bit messy, yet his ocean-blue eyes were staring at everyone with a strong gaze. Our eyes met for a brief second, but mine turned down to the floor.
I could tell from his physique that he was strong, very strong.
Upon seeing him, the first thought that ran into my mind was…Could someone with such a strong aura like him be the Alpha's son?
Probably not!!!
The Alpha's son would never attract unnecessary attention to him, and Rizz Sylvester smelled trouble.
He knelt on the floor beside that terrified girl and tilted his head slightly. My gaze looked up at him again.
“Here’s the thing, If you disobey us, you'll become our active target. We set a bounty on your head, and whoever succeeds in making you submit to us…wins a reward.” He said, cold and dangerous.
“Students are crazy. They will do anything to win against each other. You'll be the one suffering.” His voice was deep, yet devilish.
“Some students may lock you in the dark basement, some may set fire to your dorm, some may torture you with…”
The girl snatched the chain from her neck and handed it over to Rizz. She didn't even listen to the whole thing.
“I am sorry.” Her pale lips apologized.
He took the chain from her grip and passed it to Kelly.
“The list for your allotted dorms is on the notice board. Greet the principal, check your dorm number, and leave.” Kelly ordered.
The incident with the girl made her forget to check my items. All of us turned around, preparing to leave.
“Stop, purple short hair!” The manly voice commanded behind me.
I slowly faced him... only to witness his intimidating gaze pointed at my presence.
Rizz moved closer to me, casting his shadow upon my height. He had the look of a predator in his fierce eyes.
My breathing slowed down while my feet turned cold.
“Your bracelet!” He asked for it, extending his palm forward.
An unsaid anxiety climbed up my spine.
