DID HE CHANGE THE RULES?

1051 Words
SOLANE He was stunned!!! I had my eyes on him from the very start. He was arrogant and proud among the boys. My gut feeling told me very strongly that he might be the Alpha's son. Lozark Aylestone was a proud man all his life. Showing him my dance was an opportunity to grab his attention. “Why are you only asking him?” Theo paused the music and jumped down. He slowly walked over to me, closing the distance between us to mere inches. His chest was almost touching my breasts. I stepped back but he grabbed my wrist. “Hailey, right?” His lecherous eyes were checking me out. “Would you like to…” A punch landed on his face and he dropped to the floor. My gaze slowly traced the veiny arm and moved up to his handsome face. “No personal requests!” He clenched his jaws. Theo scratched the floor with his claws and kept his head down. They were all members of the disciplinary committee but Rizz Sylvester had the upper hand. “Everyone, leave!” He groaned angrily. In a flash, each of them stepped out of the room, including Theo. “You're quite an attendant seeker, aren't you?” His voice deepened and his feet stepped into my personal space. Strangely, I could feel my heart racing triggered by his intoxicating scent. He was so close that we could hear each other breathing. “Attention seeker?” My brows furrowed. “You targeted me with your friends and asked me to dance for you, remember?” “Why didn't you refuse it?” His eyes darkened. “I was afraid your punishment might be worse.” A smirk came across his face. Suddenly, his gaze landed on the bandage wrapped around my wrist. It was the only possible method to hide my bracelet. “You're still not healed?” A suspicious tone hiding behind his question. My shoulders tensed up. “Are you a wolf?” He tilted his head slightly. I wet my bottom lip and looked straight into his eyes, not scared or nervous. “You wanna know the truth?” He shrugged his shoulders. I removed the bandage from my arm and he raised his brows. There was no wound. “Whoever my parents were, they left me at the orphanage with this bracelet. It is the only thing that connects me to them. I don't wanna take it off because of some sick rules.” A breath slipped free of my lips. He rolled his tongue, touching his teeth. An awkward silence replenished the four walls. There was an unsaid tension between us. His piercing blue eyes pointed at the door, intimating me to leave. I slowly walked over to my bench, grabbed my bag, and rushed out of the room. Fortunately, he bought my lie!!! *** Later in the important assembly… The disciplinary committee called for an important assembly to announce something. The students were gathered in the main hall, whereas the committee members were standing on the stairs. My gaze was stuck at him. He was sitting on the top of the stairs, eating an apple. His eyes locked with mine and a thrill rushed down my spine. No matter what, we always found a way to find each other. “So everyone…” Kelly's voice grabbed my attention. She stood in the middle and flashed a big smile on her lips. “We have changed a few rules considering everyone's feelings.” Her voice was so fake for concern. “From now on, you're all allowed to wear a bracelet and a locket, nothing more than that.” My eyes slowly widened. Whispers washed over the hall and everyone already started celebrating. I looked up at him…and he was already staring at me intensely. His teeth pierced into the apple while his eyes were eating me. *Did he change the rules?* *** Later that day… I perched on the last bench next to the glass window in the cafeteria. Everyone had a group except for me. “Hey!” Ezek startled me. “Oh! You!” A sigh fell off my lips. He was the only one who was like a friend. “You don't have other friends?” I was curious. “No one wants to be friends with a nerd.” His fingers fixed his glasses. Honestly, Ezek was on my radar. Victor did mention that Alpha's son might be acting like a nerd to stay away from attention. Ezek did fit the description. “Are you coming tonight to the illegal fight?” He leaned closer and whispered. “Illegal fight?” “Every Saturday, Jay Manchester hosts an illegal fight in the abandoned building behind the dorms. Whoever wins, gets money.” “Everyone will come, even the disciplinary committee members.” “Really?” I am quite taken aback. “About Rizz Sylvester…” My mind was stuck on this name. “Is he from a rich family?” “Rizz Sylvester is adopted.” “What?” My face scrunched up. “His parents died in a car accident, and his father's friend adopted him.” “Jonver Sylvester, Rick’s adoptive father, owns a big law firm. He handles Alpha's legal matters, and makes rules for the pack on Alpha's command.” The academy was divided into two groups led by two popular boys. Rizz Sylvester and Jay Manchester. Both their fathers were connected to Lozark Aylestone. Either one of them was the Alpha's son or they could take me to him. “Why are you asking about him?” “Just…” My hand reached the back of my neck, rubbing the skin anxiously. “If you have fallen for him, drop the idea.” Ezek slammed a fork on the table. The look in his eyes turned feral. “What's wrong?” “Kelly is dangerous!” He whispered. “She and Rizz are engaged to each other. Her minions are everywhere, always reporting to her if any girl gets closer to her boyfriend.” “What happens to them?” I asked. A hand clutched my food tray on the table and, with a force, flung it against the wall. “They disappear!” Kelly smiled.
