Knowing Each Other

Ava’s POV

I am at Alex’s house and freaking out internally. How will it go? Alex turns to me and guides me up to the room where I will until I open up to him. I am already sad that I did not get kiss on my lips and now this. I am also not sure what I want? Do I want to be him in the same room as him or not? It is really frustrating. The room is all comfy and gives homey vibes.

Alex tells he’ll be next door and starts leaving, I feel disappointed again. I am unsure of my feelings, what should I say to him? Should I tell him to stay? Or should I kiss him goodnight? Thinking this I turn and start removing my earrings, I am engrossed in my thoughts and when I hear him calling me and turn up immediately but am bewildered at the closeness, and look down at once unable to look up to him. He brings me closer to him sending shivers down my spine. Will he kiss me now? Yes he kisses me again on top of my forehead and greets good night, I become sad again at the lack of his touch. But I know it is better not to hurry. I should get to know him first, as Dad said, I can do it. With this confidence I sleep off all the stress and nervousness.

I woke up early at my usual time, fly off to the washroom to do my business, take a long relaxing shower. I don’t have to go to office today and day after. Wrapping the towel I walk out of the washroom only to find no clothes to wear. I am aghast WHERE IS MY LUGGAGE! What will I do now? I start pacing in the room. I can go to Alex and ask him for one of his clothes. Like this? No No No, find some other way Ava! An idea pops up my head, I can search for laundry clothes, to my luck while walking up to the room I saw laundry room down. I run towards the laundry room and find fresh shirts, they smell like Alex, I remove the blush of my face and wear it, it reaches my mid-thighs but this is better than nothing. I decide to make pancakes for breakfast today and ask for all Alex’s favorites later. While I am making pancakes I feel someone staring at me. I turn up to see Alex, I hold my breath as he walks over to me. I am not wearing anything under I am panicking from inside. But his gaze doesn’t make me uncomfortable. He comes near me and half hugging posture pecks on my cheeks greeting me morning, I relax to this and greet him back. I ask him to wait for me at the table and I’ll bring pancakes over. He patiently waits for me. I want to kiss him already!!

We have a conversation about our office timings and others. I want to ask him for spending more time with me but I hesitate, he notices this and asks me to say whatever it is. He is happy to hear about the breakfast and dinner thing and agrees immediately. I blush when he says He’s all mine, it sounds so good and cheeky at the same time. We decide to spend our day watching movies and talking and it went well, more than expected. He holds my hand and keeps kissing on my knuckles every now and then, butterflies erupt in my stomach though I avoid them and smile everytime. It’s already bed time, I become sad again that he’ll leave but I am amazed when he says to sleep over and then clarifies himself. He’s so cute. Blushing I say him a yes and dash off to the washroom not wanting to see his expressions otherwise I will blush even harder. When I come back I see Alex laying down on one side, I move to the other side and turn my back to him as I could not stop blushing. I say a soft goodnight to him and try to sleep. I hear him twist and turn, he’s not comfortable I think. Soon after I am pulled up to him “I will have a good night now” he says kissing on top of my forehead I couldn’t respond to it, my heart is beating a 100 times faster. I just hum as a response.

I wake up to find Alex staring at me. I am all on top of him. How could I? For how long has he been up, and staring? I try to move away but he tightens his grip around me and commands me “Stay” I hide myself more into him which makes him chuckle. “I slept in nicely thank you for that. I want it every day, you by my side” I feel alleviated after hearing his words and nod saying “Me too” We stay there for about 30 minutes more, Alex playing with my hair, me fidgeting with the shirt that I am wearing, a comfortable silence between us when my phone rings in. I look up to Alex and his grip loosens, I mouth a sorry to him and attend the call. “Hey Claire, Hi Sam. Yes I am fine, just got up, No I won’t come today, by tomorrow, umm hmm” Claire and Sam just called to ask about me and when will I be back to office, though I am well aware of their hidden intentions.

I see Alex is already sitting on the bed and gestured that he’ll take shower and come down. After ending the phone call I enter the washroom, freshen up and take shower quickly. I move towards the kitchen to make a quick breakfast. French toast with fruit salad, orange juice and coffee for him. By the time I am done, Alex comes down all suited up and sits waiting for his breakfast like a kid. I smile at this and give him his breakfast. “You are such an amazing cook” “Thanks” When we are done, I walk him up to the door and kiss him on cheeks getting on my tippy toes he is 6’3 and I am 5’8 so yes, I have to be on my toes to kiss him properly “Have a good day” he smiles and kisses me a centimeter away from my lips and I am taken aback “Good day to you too!” He brushes of his knuckles on my cheeks and leaves.

I am dancing all over the living room. We made a good progress. Yuuhhuuuuu. My dancing is cut off mid-way when I hear my phone ring again. I pick it up, “Yes?” “Mam, we have an emergency meeting with one of our clients” “So you all can’t manage without me?” “No Mam, the Vice President is out too, we’ll need your presence as it is one of our important clients” “When does the meeting start?” “In 40 mins Mam” “Text me the address I’ll be on my way!” I quickly change into professional clothes “Ethan come over in 10” sitting in the car I dial to Claire’s secretary “Mike, email me all the project details, and who will accompany me?” “Sent it Mam, and I am on my way with the team, we will reach in 5. We will wait for you” “Sure, I’ll reach in next 15 minutes, and I want everything to be ready by then” I walk inside the building seeing Mike and other team members talking to some people as I walk towards them “Sir, this way please” one of them says “We are waiting for our CEO to arrive, I am the secretary” “Sorry about that, So by what time should we start?” “She’ll be here in any minute now” “She?” “The CEO is a she?” one of the female employee asks. I laugh at this but maintain my posture again Mike turns at this and sees me coming over to them “Yes and she’s here” saying this Mike and others run upto me “Good Morning Mam” I just node “Let’s get started it then” “This way Mam!” “Sure, lead the way”
