Ava’s POV

All the questions that Alex asked, seem to have relaxed the turmoil going inside me. Alex is different, our parents will be happy with our marriage, and yes I am ready to take the risks because it’s Alex, he makes me comfortable. I have decided to agree for this, though Alex asked me to take my own sweet time, if he’s ready to give us chance, I should also try from my end.

Alex again held my hand and takes me inside, our parents are happy seeing this. I know what I am going to say and I break the ice by saying yes to which Alex is shell shocked, I want to laugh at his reaction. Our Parents are on 7th heaven congratulating and hugging each other. I am happy to watch them like this, one simple yes made them so much excited. Once out of his daze, Alex starts questioning me, when I say I agree to marry him, I am in the air next moment, I couldn’t control the blush creeping out of me. Our Parents give us some space and walk away laughing at our reaction. Oh my God! When he puts me down he hugs me like there is no tomorrow saying he’s more than happy at my decision. I am taken aback, but hug him back. I feel safe in his arms and never want to let him go.

When I say I want to take back my words, Alex seems sad, Oh no is he thinking that I will go back on my decision to marry him? I clarify then and suddenly I am pulled to his chest. I feel his heated gaze on my lips, and look down, I am sure I look red as a tomato. He then kisses on my forehead and soon we hear our parents coming down.

“We have decided to marry you guys 8 days later” Aunt Mellissa says. We both are shocked and we say at the same time “Is it not too soon?” “We want to be in bliss after marrying you both” Mom says. I am freaking out now, Alex squeezes my hands and I calm down soon. “It is better if we both take time, may be after 1 or 2 months?” “No Son, we know you both very well, you both will get busy in your business, so 8 days are more than enough for you” Uncle Jade says and smirks. “Honey, are you ok with this?” Dad asks me. Could I say no to those expecting 4 pair eyes? “I am fine with it. Let’s make it final” I look up to Alex and in a hushing tone assure him “We’ll be fine” he smiles at this and answers our awaiting parents “If this makes you all happy, I agree” “Let’s get started then, we don’t have time to waste” “Alex, Ava, call Claire, Sam and Xave to help us with the preparations” both are parents say in unison. “I need to finish of my work before that” I say to them and Alex joins me “Me too, we are moving quite fast.” “But you both have to select your engagement rings and wedding attires” “We can go in 2 days, Is it ok Ava? I’ll take my leave then” I nod in his direction as he technically runs off from the house after saying his good byes.

I too fly off to my room to get ready for office, no weekends for me for net 8 days! I call Claire and Sam on the way to office and inform about the wedding and they are literally scream out of joy. Help me save my eardrums God!

2 days passed of pretty quickly, and here we are at a jeweler shop to select our rings. We talk once a day basically at night hardly for 5 minutes as we are tired as hell for finalizing everything so that we can enjoy our wedding without any extra overheads. I search for something very simple which gives soothing vibes, Alex hands me over a very beautiful ring “How do you like it?” “It’s really beautiful Alex, We’ll take this” I don’t waste any time and hand it over to the staff to wrap it up. I had already looked up yesterday for Alex’s ring, I show it to him “I liked it the instant my eyes fell on it, Shall we take this for you?” I am nervous, it’s the first time I have selected something for him will he like it? “I love it, let’s take this” I jump up to him, but stop midway from hugging him. He chuckles at my reaction, I am embarrassed as hell “I am all yours!” he smirks and brushes off his knuckles on my cheeks. I try to hide behind my hairs which I am unable to, offering him one more round of chuckle. He takes my hand as we walk out of the store. “Shall we get Lunch?” “Umm, Alex, if you don’t mind can we do it later? I have to visit Mother’s Care, to meet up the kids and elderlies as I won’t be free until next week?” “I’ll come with you, if you are ok with it?” “You sure?” “100 percent, now let’s go, we’ll take our lunch with all of them outside they’ll enjoy it. Let me arrange a buffet or something. We’ll reach in 30 mins and hopefully everything will be ready by then” “Thanks Alex” He’s so kind, I was stunned when he asked to have lunch with all of them, he cares for the things and people I care about. I could never ask for a better partner than him, I feel lucky to be with him.

Days went by, and the D Day arrived soon. I am nervous but sad as well. I will have all my brothers present except Noah. I have 2 own brothers Leo and Logan and 3 cousins, Noah and Nolan of my Aunt, my father’s younger sister and Louis my Uncle’s youngest of Dad’s siblings. I have no one on my Mother’s side as my Mom was the single child. So this makes me the eldest and most loved one of all. We all siblings are pillar in each other’s life and I can’t imagine my life without them. They all are running our business in different cities and states. They crazily came back when they heard of the marriage. Did God knows how many investigations on Alex. It was Claire who held up there horses, I wanted to do it, but I didn’t, I enjoyed seeing them take up the charge and go insane about the whole matter, Claire is 3 years elder to me which makes her like elder sister for all of us.

Mom gushes over me “You look beautiful Honey” with all teary eyes. Dad soon walks in “Shall we not marry you baby girl?” “Yes, Please, Dad. Let’s ship Alex somewhere, we don’t want sis to go away from us” my brothers chirp with tears all over we laugh at their reaction. “Let’s go baby girl” Dad extends his hands which I hold quick enough to walk over the aisle. My brother’s, Claire and Sam following closely behind us. I see Alex standing dressed up in a black tux looking all handsome. His eyes train towards me, and his face becomes expressionless. It’s unreadable and bothering me, my Dad squeezes my hands “Smile a little princess, Alex is looking nervous as you are” how can Dad decipher his expressions? “I also had the same cold face when I saw your Mom walking over the aisle. Men generally don’t show their emotions, you have to understand them. You have to understand his feelings now, is emotions without him telling this. You have dealt with all men of our family and I know you’ll be great with Alex too” I nod at my Dad. I develop new unbound confidence, by that time we have reached the stage. Alex extends his hands for me and when I hold them I realize they are shaking. He is nervous, I hold them tightly and smile towards him which eases off him a bit. As soon as I say “I do” the gathering erupts in cheers, happiness and congratulations. “Kiss her already now Alex, don’t chicken out now” I hear someone say, I blush at this. Alex holds me by my waist and pulls me closed. His breath is fanning over my face, I couldn’t look up to him because of the intimacy. I am waiting to feel his lips on me but find him kissing on top of my forehead. He’s true to his words to take everything slow, I am proud but disappointed a bit that he didn’t kiss me on lips.

After entertaining the guests it’s time for me to bid goodbye to my family. New world, new future awaits me with open hands, I hope I do my best with the expectations. I am nervous excited stressed and what not!
