Will There Be A Next Time?

914 Words
Ava’s POV It was really nice to meet him in person, I had to keep my emotions at bay. I was a nervous havoc in front of him, but he kinda made me comfortable. We went for a walk to the beach alongside the restaurant after dinner and that was it. Alex suggested to drop me after it, but I had my car already parked up. "I can get it delivered to your home, I have my men in the restaurant" Alex said. That’s when I connected the dots and guessed "don’t tell me you own this?" "Yes, this is one of my investments. Now, can I please accompany you?" I agree smiling at him. Being a gentleman he opens the passenger door for me, I get in saying a quick thanks. He walks to his side of door smiling ear to ear, getting in and starting to drive us to my home, hmm, what could be the reason? I think to myself. He asks for the address and the navigation, the ride to my home is all silent, a comfortable one. We stop at the entrance of my home, I hop off before Alex can open up the door for me, and he is immediate to tell me, not to do that again and wait for him. "Will there be a next time?" I ask him, and immediately regret to see his face fall. "Did you not enjoy the date?" He’s nervous. Now, it’s my time, tucking my hair strands behind the ear I honestly answer him "I really enjoyed the date, thank you so much for it, and I am really sorry about the earlier statement, I did not mean it that way." His smile is back, he walks up to me "until next time then, I too enjoyed and I want more of it" he says kissing my cheeks. I am stunned and rooted at my spot, I take quite a while to process what all happened. He’s already by his car, getting in and chuckling hard at my expressions. I blush waving him a bye and run inside my house. God! Why am I acting like a teenager!! I run upto my room thankfully no ones in the hall to notice me and my flustered self. I fall on my bed rolling out today’s event in my head. I hear my phone buzz and look up to see a text from my secretary informing about some office stuffs then I see more than 20 messages from Claire. Oh God, this girl will grow crazy if I don’t reply her. I text her a quick heart eyes and blush emoji. Calling in 20 is her instant reply. Was she guarding her phone? I laugh and head up to take a quick shower and change into something comfy for sleep, if I get any. As soon as I reached my bed, I saw Claire’s name popping on my phone screen. This will be a long conversation I thought to myself. “Hey Darling, so how did it go?” this is what I like about Claire the most, she’s straight forward, doesn’t round up sentences. “You there? Spaced out again in your thoughts?” I hear her chuckle. “I guess it went well. I need to tell you something though.” “Is it anything I should be worried about” “No nothing like that. Umm, you remember I told you that I kept on hiding from that one person?” “Yeah! What about him that too so suddenly?” Claire asks all confused. Sighing I tell her “You can’t even imagine what I am going to tell, He is Alex Claire! I kept on hiding from him and ended up on being on a date. Can you imagine how nervous I was? I couldn’t hide anywhere else from him there. Do you hear me?” pause “Stop, Alex is you first crush then? Oh My God! That’s great, aren’t you happy? Did you tell him already or not?” “No, I am scared, shy, nervous, I am feeling all those emotions I never felt. What will I do Claire?” “Don’t be worried Darling, you believe in go with the flow with everything. I know you’ll do great, just give it a chance without thinking of anything else. Will you? For me try once, and well yes there is nothing Ava Emma Williams cannot conquer. You know what I mean?” “I am not sure, but I guess yes, I’ll try. Alex said he wanted more of it” “Wait! So you both clicked? Want to go on another date?” “Probably…lets park this aside for a while. I got a text about tomorrow’s meeting, but I have to be at orphanage we are having annual fun activities for kids there. Will you cover for me, pleaseee?“ “No issues at all, consider it done Boss!” “Claire” I say in a warning tone. “Don’t worry” Claire says chuckling “I’ll keep you posted on the status of the deal” “Thank you so much, you’re a savior. I couldn’t have imagined of handling all the businesses and NGO’s without your help, and yes I know you’ll nag me about this, but I say what’s true. Love you so much, Babe!” “Aww! You made me tear up” Claire says amused “Now go and take rest, I’ll take rest details tomorrow. Deal?” “Deal” I say as I bid good bye and lay down on the bed allowing myself not to think about the date. Arghhh! Here I go again.
