Chapter 16Remus
“It’s done, then?” Remus asked, his sweaty hand tight around his phone.
“It’s done,” Joe’s voice came back, succinct as always.
Remus let out the breath he felt like he’d been holding for four days. He’d called Joe from the chopper on route to the Dubbo hospital. Discovered Joe was on route himself from the US to Australia. He’d gotten wind of Remus’ father leaving the United States for Australia and thought it best to follow him out here.
Joe had been too far behind to be right on Roberto’s tail and help them out in Andamooka but close enough for Remus to meet him at Sydney airport. They’d spent the next two days trying to track down Roberto. Elaina, their IT whiz, had finally traced him to an out of the way hotel on the far outskirts of Sydney, close to the Blue Mount
