Paparazzi Tagger
I eyeballed my little sister and poured water from my water bottle on my cloth and wiped my hands off again. I always carry around a cloth with water. Better safe than sorry. Kaden cackled and quickly looked down at his lunch. I narrowed my eyes at the boy. His hair falling over his eyes and at the tips of his shoulders.
Kaden is Aiden's fraternal twin brother, older by five minutes and are both annoying yes, but Kaden's more laid back and social. He's a paparazzi as I will tell. He has blue eyes, dark hair and is very much better than Aiden. Kaden's one of three rounds to my parents, and they're my parents first set of twins and me and Raleigh's first set of twin brothers. Unlike Logan and Raleigh who I swear were meant to be twins. Kaden's smart like me but he can be a bit stupid sometimes.
"Well as I was saying," Beverly chirped. "I think Raleigh would be the perfect party girl." Raleigh and I both looked up at Beverly before looking at each other. Justin has a look that said, "does anyone mind if I hit her in the face with a trash can?" and I'm pretty sure that Aiden and Kaden were thinking the same thing. Well, knowing the twins, they practically read each other's minds.
"Party what?" we said in unison. Beverly smiled and repeated her words. Showing her high cheekbones and her white teeth. I looked at Raleigh and her new plate of chicken salad that she stole from Ivan fell from her fork.
"Party. Girl," Beverly repeated slowly. "Raleigh is the life of the party." Right then and there I wanted to smack my best friend silly. Or chuck a baseball bat at her head.
"Since when?" everyone at the table said. Beverly's smile brightened and she looked at me. I looked at Justin who was just as shocked as the rest of us.
"I don't party and you know that," Raleigh defended herself, "and so do you Justin," she pointed to Justin with her index finger. Dylan and Logan slid down in their seats, eyes looking from Raleigh and Beverly. Justin farrowed his brows and gapped his lips to speak.
"Don't look at me, I'm just her brother," Justin threw his hands up in defense. Raleigh groaned at him and I reached over and squeezed her shoulders a bit before she could jump over the table at the skinny perky brunette haired girl.
"I know and I added your name to the list," Beverly spoke. "For next week and the next two days, you're Reese Witherspoon."
"Shut up, Beverly," I mumbled quickly at her but she kept talking. Beverly never stops talking by the way, and she has to get her appointment across.
"All you have to do is dress in pink and dye your hair blonde," Beverly spoke. I shook my head psychically at her, mumbling, telling her to stop talking.
"Oh, Chloe could totally do that," Gabe points at me. I snared and eyeballed him, pursuing my lips at him, my lips trembling in anger. Turning back to Beverly, I frowned at her.
"Stop talking," I said loud enough for her and the others to hear. Beverly looked at me and smiled and went on again. I watched Raleigh's face turn redder by the minute Beverly kept chatting.
"So, enjoy next Friday and Saturday night, Ms. Reese Witherspoon," Beverly spoke with a squeal in her voice.
"Oh, for the love of books, stop talking," I said, getting looks from Justin, Gabe, and the twins.
"Keep talking and you're gonna be Ridley Everdoom," Raleigh spoke. The smile on Beverly's face disappeared and I felt a breath that I was holding escape my lips and my shoulders drop.
"Well, how about I just tell Jameson and Cooper that you can't go?" Beverly said with fear and loathing in her voice. We all looked at Beverly before turning to Raleigh. Justin was the first to butt in for his sister.
"No, I'll just tell them that Raleigh can't make it," Justin said turning to Raleigh whose face is already beet red and inches away from pulling Beverly across the table.
"No, I insist," Beverly spoke. "I mean it's the best I can do. I'll just tell Cooper that Reece won't be able to make it. If he didn't look at the list yet."
"Or don't show up," Kaden chimed himself in. Gabe looked at me and I shrugged my shoulders at him. "It's better not to mention anything of it to him or Jameson. Just go along with your life and pretend you don't even know about the thing."
"You're a little genius, Kaden Landonerin," Raleigh spoke with sarcasm in her mouth. Kaden's eyes darkened and Raleigh's eyes sparkled and her lips spreaded into a smile, that even Justin and Beverly and Zooey knew wasn't a good smile.
"Don't call me that, Bloomclaire," Kaden said with hatred in his eyes from the letters of his middle name. Zooey looked at me and I kicked Gabe from under the table. He looked at me and sat up straight and cleared his throat.
"Okay, well you guys know how Riboun had that test?" Gabe said putting his book out on table in front of West twin one, Justin, nearly knocking his soda and his own over. "Well, behold the glory!" Gabe called out holding a laptop in the air.
"You better behold the glory quickly, we only have 20 minutes left of lunch," Dylan interjects, now chewing on a bag of chips.
"Well, behold Mr. Riboun's laptop!" Gabe called out making me, Zooey and Logan and Aiden choke on our food and soda, catching it in time before it could spray across the table, only Justin and Zooey both catching themselves in time before Justin's soda could fall from his mouth and Zooey's sandwich fall from her lips. The rest of us just choked, barely on our way to death's door, other students turned their attention to us, a bit curious about why we're all coughing and choking. Gabe looked at us with a smile on his face and snickered before letting out a laugh.
"How'd you get a hold of Riboun's laptop?" Zooey wanted to know. Gabe smiled and shrugged his shoulders.
"Me and Raleigh have our ways," Gabe said and looked at Raleigh and Gabe and Dylan fist pounded and Logan and Aiden and Kaden had their eyes on the laptop in front of us. I looked at Raleigh and Gabe.
"Do you guys want Gemma and Axilla to kick y'all's ass?" I asked Gabe. Raleigh smiled, not answering the question and reached for the laptop and opened it before putting in the passcode, another thing that Raleigh's really good in, fast eyes, quick on the eyes and quick on the lips; and it's all from my Dad and Gemma and Uncle Adam. "I mean seriously?"
"Better than Mom and Dad finding out," Gabe said and started to smile at me like the weirdo he is. I looked at Zooey. "Honestly, I'd rather Adam and Blake find out. Better luck than Gemma and Dad finding out. Or Dad, especially Dad."
"Especially him," Raleigh said. Zooey typed in the password and username, while Aiden threw away his trash. Raleigh and Justin were on their phones which only happens when Zooey has ideas which are never good. She's more of a menace than a idea planner, she's gotten fewer of us in trouble which called for a groundbreaking punishment for the ten of us. Zooey looked at Raleigh and Justin and back to Raleigh.
"How did you and Justin meet?" Zooey asked Raleigh. I looked at her and she gave me a smile, I looked at Raleigh and who looked at Zooey like she had her head on backwards. Gabe chewed on his straw eyeballing the Korean-Japanese girl.
Blinking, Justin looks up, "you're asking me?" Raleigh rolled her eyes at him.
"I had to help Beverly with an English project and I had to go over the West household and when I came in and—"
"Bam! it was like love at first sight!" Logan suddenly cuts in. We looked at him like he was insane which he is, and I'm pretty sure that he has his head on backwards and inside out for real.
“Yeah pretty much, but we're not like love at first sight," Raleigh said. "We're more like Romeo and Juliet, or Beyoncé and Jay-Z."
"Yeah, I'm not sure we're all that love," Justin said. "We're surely like Bonnie and Clyde." Zooey stared at my sister and future brother in law and turned back to typing.
"I was just curious," Zooey says and stuffed her face with her pizza. "You guys seem more than middle school lovers. I was thinking of you guys more of you've been on y'alls way since the day y'all were born. Destiny."
We looked at her and blinked at Zooey who grinned and went back to typing on the laptop. I will never in my life understand how I became best friends with a girl like Zooey French.
"Did you just quote Beautiful Creatures?" Beverly asked Zooey who happily smiled at her and then turned to me and Raleigh. Yup, I will definitely never understand how and why I became such good and best friends with Zooey. This is so totally my punishment for wanting to drown and torture Raleigh after she became an official Permanent Borrower and sadly I'm starting to regret begging my parents to have another kid.
