" What!? " Sara questioned wanting to believe she heard wrong. " You heard me. " Her dad said grimly. " No. You... you can't do that. " Sara said, her voice breaking and she glanced at her who sighed. " I have done literally everything required and expected of me to become the CEO. I let you and mom control my life trying to make me the perfect heir. I graduated business school, went to countless meetings, went on business trips and won contracts. It's I who have been here, Dad not Jake and I came this far. You can't take this away from me now! " She half yelled. " Becoming the CEO of one of the greatest and most successful companies in the city comes with responsibilities, Sara and getting married to a successful man like Ryan is one of them! " He snapped and Sara scoffed, folding her hands into tight fists and all she felt in that moment was nothing but anger. Her mom gently stood up and walked towards her. " Darling, just think about it, please. " She pleaded and she blinked back her tears which threatened to fall. She sucked in a sharp breath and raised her gaze to meet her mom's brown eyes. " There is nothing to think about. I am not getting married to Ryan and that's final. " She said, walking away. " Sara! Sara, wait. " Her mom called but she ignored, exiting the house and slamming the door behind. She walked briskly towards her car and grabbed the door open, hopping in and shutting the door. She started the engine to life and drove out at a high speed, joining the roads of California. She finally pulled over at one of the most luxurious and popular bars in the city and she killed the car engine. She grabbed her purse and alighted the car, slamming the door.. She tucked her hair behind her ear, glancing at the tons of people hanging around outside the bar and she started towards the entrance. She stepped in and was welcomed by the music booming loud in the air. She stared at the people in the dance floor watching as they jumped, screamed and shouted. They clearly having the best time of thier life. She then turned her gaze sideways to see most people making out, getting wasted and high on alcohol, drugs and cigarettes. She licked her lips, returning her gaze to the center of the room. This is exactly where she needed to be. It's the perfect place to calm her nerves. The noise of the people and the music was the perfect distraction. Now, all she needs is a hard drink. With that thought in mind, she walked her way through the crowd and started towards the counter. She placed her bag on it and sat on of the barstools. " What can I get you, pretty? " The bartender asked. " Scotch. " She responded and he brought it to her. " Thanks. " Sara mumbled and he smiled, leaving to attend to other people. Sara raised her glass, taking a long gulp of the drink and she winced at the soft burn she felt in her throat. She licked her lips, exhaling sharply and dropping the glass cup. Hell, she can't believe her parents wants her to get married and not to a man of her choice but to some stranger.. She just couldn't do it. Get married. Hell no! She took another sip of the drink and ran a hand through her hair. Her phone suddenly rang and she dipped her hand into bag, taking it out. She saw the name of the Id of caller and she rolled her eyes, swiping the call to the red button before putting her phone on silent and dipping it into her bag. " Hi. " A male voice said to her and she turned her gaze to see a brown haired man. He was dressed in a black jeans and blue top and he had a glass cup of drink in his hand. " Hey. " Sara said back.. " A pretty lady like you shouldn't be by yourself. How about I keep you company, huh!? " He asked and she sighed. Hell, she has enough on her plate already and she was not in the mood for this. " I am Finn by the way. " He added and Sara forced a smile at him. " I really appreciate you walking up to me, Finn but I will pass. " " Oh, don't be so cold. I just wanna talk. " He said and Sara licked her lips, slowly tucking her hair behind her ear. " Listen, Finn. I promise this has nothing to do with you. I am just not interested, okay? " " What, you got a man or something? " He asked and and Sara sighed, rubbing on her temple which was starting to throb. " Can you just leave, please? " She asked, trying to be as nice as possible. " Fine. Suit yourself. " He said, walking away and she exhaled softly, running a hand through her hair. If this was one of her good nights, maybe she would have let him seat with her. Hell, maybe she would have let him bore her with his boring talks but not tonight. Tonight she was faced with the one thing she has always been terrified of...Marriage. The thought of it alone had her raising her glass and chugging the whole content down her throat in one gulp. Standing a couple millimeters away from her was a guy who had been staring at her all along and intrigued was one of the words he could use to define how he felt in the moment, staring at her while curiosity was the other. He looked at the black knee length gown which she was clad in and his gaze lowered further to her legs which were crossed over the other and his lips curved, his eyes appreciating the view before him. His gaze remained trained to her pretty, long legs which glowed under the dim lights and then he slowly raised his gaze back up, his eyes accessing every part of her body from her perfectly curved behind to her face which he wasn't seeing so clearly for her gaze was slightly lowered. He watched her run a hand through her hair again and he smiled loving the way she bit on her lower lips while doing it. It was literally the most sexy thing he had ever seen. He would be crazy not to talk to her. He thought, walking over to her. " A penny for your thoughts, love? " A thick, masculine voice questioned and Sara groaned in displeasure, raising her gaze. " Seriously? Can you please - " She suddenly paused, her words getting caught up in her throat when her eyes came in contact with a pair of green ones. She sucked in a sharp breath, staring at the man standing right before her but he wasn't just any man but a hot one. Probably the most handsome man she had ever seen. He definitely has the most pretty eyes.. He was dressed in a black T-shirt, pants and shoes, matching his jet black hair which looked so silky and soft. Her eyes flickered to the silver earring worn on his left ear and he also had three rings worn on his fingers as well and it only made him look so sexy. Her eyes shifted to his pinkish and thin lips and Sara forced saliva down her throat which had gone dry. Who the hell was this Greek god? She thought. " Hi. " His thick voice said again, a small smile easing onto his lips and she blinked.
