Hunt Key leads us up a flight of stairs, distracted. When Twist had disappeared – seriously, how do they do that?! – everyone had lost their focus. The events of the day, the adrenaline, the fear, the shock, the absolute overload of information, it seemed to catch up with us all. Everyone looked like they could use a solid ten hours of sleep or so. All I wanted to do was get Lily somewhere private where we could actually talk for once. Glancing over at her now, a growl rumbles in my throat when my eyes catch on the raw skin of her wrists where Andy had tied her, the way her lips are a little bit swollen from the gag and from crying. Couple that with the faraway look in her pale, pale blue eyes, and I’m about ready to lock her away from this miserable world myself. Key turns down a hall
