Hunt Coffee was a bad idea. I thought, since I was up most of the night and it’s been a long f*****g day, some caffeine might put a little spring in my step. But as I twist my big hand nervously around the mug in front of me, I realize my critical error. I’m jittery, nervous, foot bouncing on the bar of my stool. The diner around us is empty, save for my brothers. Lily is at the flat, with Diego and Vile for protection, just in case anything should happen. It’s not that I don’t trust them to protect her. It’s just that I really hate being away from her. Base doesn’t seem to be fairing much better, sitting beside me and staring dejectedly into his much wiser choice of a glass of ice water. I’m only slightly soothed by the apparent nonchalance of the others. At least they’re sober now. Ma
