Unfortunately, he was still a human so no matter what he couldn't exist in two forms! So of course, a vampire body was a fine choice but it had its own merits and demerits.
If he were to transform into a vampire, he would be required to drink human blood on a regular basis.
Moreover, he would be required to prevent himself from being exposed to the sunlight since it would be fatal to a vampire's body!
Also, he would have to leave the human community and live among the vampires from then onwards.
No matter what, he was ready to do that and had already prepared himself mentally. Thus, he asked to get a vampire's body but oh well, the system found a better alternative that allotted him a unique hybrid-like feature which he never expected!
