The Mansion

1042 Words
"Am I dreaming...?", he pinched himself while saying that because right in front of him there was a large mansion that seemed no different from a palace. Although it was just like any other mansion, it seemed to be the best out of all that ever existed. "No master, this is reality...", she answered with a smile. *gulp* 'Just how many buildings would be there like this in the world? Ten? Five...?' 'No, I think there is no other building that can be compared to this...' Jay was not shocked by the large size of the mansion, what he was actually shocked was by the pure white clear glass or crystal with the help of which the mansion was made. 'Tsk, how would a mere human know the true worth of this mansion...', was what the butler thought but in reality, Jay knew it. Even though the mansion was covered with illusion magic to prevent normal humans or others from knowing what the building actually looked like, Jay was readily able to look at the structures and the mansion itself which was no different than a Crystal Palace. "This way master...", Roselia led the way and soon they arrived at the door. Until now Jay had been wondering that only the mansion was what Roselia wanted to say. He was already shocked by seeing her have something extraordinary like this, but when he realized that the entire estate or the vast stretch of land via which he had been traveling for about 30 minutes, belonged to Roselia too, he hardly had any words left. Of course, he had never met someone so rich. Who other than royalty or some rich weirdo would go and have a garden as big as ten times the size of the largest football stadium? The car was a bit far so they had to walk for a minute or two right after which they were right in front of the door. The door then opened without making a sound. It looked just like a simple door but in fact, that too was made up of crystal. Palaces are usually way huge than what one could imagine and in a similar manner, the mansion was too. "Welcome Your Highness...", as soon as the door opened, more than a hundred maids greeted Roselia. "Eh?", Jay was shocked to see that. Of course, this was way too abnormal for him because not even once had he seen a maid in his life and now he suddenly got to see so many of them. On top of that, they were no ordinary maids. They had the same red eyes just like a vampire. Other than that there were no other significant features.  Come to think of it, right now everything that was happening was way too abnormal to even think about. All the maids did greet Roselia, but at the same time, they made it clear that they were hostile to Jay. It was clearly seen all over their expressions that they weren't ready to accept someone as lowly as Jay. The butler thought that Jay was some damn human due to which he looked down on him, while the maids looked at him with hostility because they thought that he was some low-ranking vampire who was no more than a mere servant. "Master, she is Zia. She will show you your room and will take care of all your necessities.", Roselia said with a cheerful expression. A girl with brownish hair appeared. She was almost the same height as Rosy. She wore a red-colored maid outfit just like the others and had a weird badge on her chest region of the clothing. "Uh, alright...", Zia was no exception. She was also quite hostile to Jay. Although she was quite happy that Roselia gave her work, she couldn't help but look down on Jay. Vampires are all categorized with ranks. The hierarchy that exists is solely based on the ranking system. It's one of the laws of the world made by and for the vampires. The bigger the number the higher the rank is. Servants and other useless vampires who have the least powers aren't given any rank which makes them no different from any ordinary humans. Just the fact that they have a small amount of Regeneration skill which makes them different from humans apart from physically visible features. Roselia went towards her own room after bidding Jay farewell and now Jay was alone with many maids. "Tch, how the heck did he enter here?" "Why did her highness bring this lowly peasant here...?", the maids kept on saying this among themselves. They made sure that they weren't audible by Jay, but in reality, they were quite loud and clear. Even though they were maids, it seemed like they were quite arrogant. Despite the fact that they themselves were at the lowermost ranks, they looked down on Jay since he didn't have any rank yet. "Peasant, this way...", Zia called him that directly and then walked away. She wanted Jay to follow her and he did exactly as she wanted. Soon they arrived near a door which was on the second floor. They had initially climbed some stairs too which seemed very long for a certain reason. "This is your room...", Zia said. Jay turned the handle down which led to the door to open. He was initially a bit hesitant because he didn't want to break the handle just like he did with the doorknob, but oh well, it worked somehow and he entered the room. "If you want anything, then just get it yourself you peasant!", right after saying that Zia left. The door was now closed by Jay and then he took the initiative to look at the room. "Huh...?", but when he looked at the room, he was surprised to find it filled with emptiness. The only thing that was present there were spider webs and tons of dirt. It was as if the room hadn't been cleaned for ages. "Oh well...", he walked slowly towards the center of the room and sat on the ground after removing the shirt which he was wearing and laying it on the ground. 'It stinks...' "..." To be continued...
