The Threat Sam's heart raced as she listened to the menacing voice on the phone. She knew that Julian's organization was dangerous, but she had never received a threat like this before. "Who is this?" Sam demanded, trying to keep her voice steady. "You know who I am," the voice replied. "And you know what we're capable of. Back off now, or you'll face the consequences." Sam felt a chill run down her spine. She knew that she couldn't back down now. She had to see this through. "I'm not afraid of you," Sam said, trying to sound braver than she felt. The voice laughed. "You should be. We'll be watching you." The line went dead, and Sam was left standing there, feeling uneasy. She knew that she had to tell her team about the threat. Her parents looked at each other again, and Sam knew that they were hiding something else. "What else are you not telling me?" Sam demanded. Her parents looked at each other, and Sam could see the guilt in their eyes. "We were trying to protect you," her mom said. "We didn't want you to know the truth about your past." Sam was stunned. She didn't know what to say or think. She felt like her whole identity had been stolen from her. Suddenly, Sam heard a noise behind her. She turned around, and that's when she saw him. Julian. He was standing in the doorway, a smirk on his face. "Welcome to the family, Sam," Julian said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I see you're finally learning the truth." Sam was in shock. She didn't know what to say or do. She felt like her whole world was crashing down around her. Sam was stunned. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Julian, the man she had been investigating, was her family member? "Who are you?" Sam demanded. "What do you want?" Julian smirked. "I'm your uncle, Sam. And I've been watching you for a long time." Sam's mind was racing. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her parents had lied to her about her past, and now she had a criminal uncle who was involved in illegal activities. "What do you want from me?" Sam asked, trying to stay calm. "I want you to join me," Julian said. "Together, we can run the organization and make a fortune." Sam was horrified.
