Amos hung around Fort Lauderdale for a few days after dropping Jeff at the Pelican. He stayed at the Westin and checked on Jeff"s mental health a couple of times a day. Jeff seemed fine. On the way to the airport for the quick Citation trip home, Amos came again to Jeff"s small apartment at the Pelican. He slid the bundles of the remaining cash he owed Jeff across the tiny dining table. As Jeff reached for it, he pulled the bundles back slightly, his hand still on them.
