Gene Upchurch is a native of Durham, North Carolina and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He was a sportswriter before embarking on a 28-year career in public affairs, community relations, and legislative advocacy in the utility industry. He is a proud recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the State of North Carolina’s highest civilian honor.
His previous novel, The Eno Club, was not an international bestseller, nor was his collection of short stories, “Vanessa”.
The Eno ClubHe lives in Pinehurst with this wife, Lisa, and their two Norwich Terriers, Shelby and Hootie.
