"Don't put things in your mouth, Oz." Daddy had been concentrating hard. His brows had gone all scrunchy, and his teeth had dug into his lip. I hadn't thought he had been paying much attention to me. I had pressed too hard on one of the wax crayons and the nib had mushed.
