Ian's POV The pain came again – like something trying to rip my jaw off from the inside – and I dug my claws into the soil, grabbing a handful of dirt as a choked cry tore fled my throat. Then it hit. A liquid explosion inside my mouth. It was metallic. Hot. Blood! My blood. Instinct took over. I swirled my tongue around the thick warmth, tasting it.
