As soon as Madeline heard the sound of the car turning into the driveway and approaching the Taylor’s estate, she knew it was Ciaran.
She stepped outside the door and stood on the porch, waiting for him. She knew it would be only an afternoon in Eudaiz at most, but it had been a few days on Earth, and it felt like she hadn’t seen him for decades.
The car parked right at the front door. From the driver's seat, Ciaran smiled at her.

He went to the back seat and opened the door for a woman who looked identical to her. Madeline pulled out the stack of notes Madeline Taylor had written for her and scanned them quickly.
