It was a strange few weeks since the incident, and everything felt back to normal, which was even stranger. Zen was at the hospital every single day after Calum's surgery and by his bedside every single day after that. She found she could feel him, sense what he couldn't exactly express through that bond between them... And even though he couldn't hear her, she could speak to him using her strange new power.
Calum's recovery went better than anyone could have hoped. He regained full hearing in both ears and other than the angry red lines into his ears from the surgery he looked every bit himself again. Zen gazed over to him and smiled as that familiar grin broke across his face. Something had changed between them since the attack, a sort of deepening of their affection
