The white lights that flooded into the hallway dispersed willfully as they walked into the open space. It was a body of black mountains, painted with the smiles of greens from the leaves and trees, and lined in all directions with the brown ugly heads of dust. The sky was bright over the horizon, leaving a cloud of smoke on the mountains and stretching into the distance, as far as the eyes could see. There was no sun or moon, yet the brightness was as alluring as any torch in the universe.
