Chapter 2: I Accept Your Dare

My alarm rings again, i pick up my phone and check the time,
"Fuckin' hell"
It's 7:59 am, is doomed I rush to the bathroom, brush my teeth, take a very quick bath and get dressed, with no makeup, I am highly disappointed to say that in as much as I tried my best to be fast I finished by 8:30 am, I hurry to my car and drive off.
I arrive immediately; everybody is looking at me in the weirdest way ever, Donnie's eyes the worst, I look at my watch, and it's 9:00; it's over.
I knock and enter the office, Micheal is there checking something with him,
"Good morning sir"
I murmur
"Marylin, this is not 7:30, is it?"
He looks up,
"I can explain"
I murmur again
"Please do and be audible"
I lied of course, I told him I was on my way here when my friend called me that she needed to get to the hospital, he looked at me almost on the edge of believing,
"Lies"
Does this Micheal want to die?
"Lies?!"
"Yes Marylin", he stands on it,
I rub my forehead with anger,
"You know what, Micheal, you think being a personal secretary is so easy! and you feel like you're a boss; meanwhile, you are just a stupid, short, ugly personal assistant with a dirty moustache!"
"What!"
"You heard me, Micheal"
I could swear I saw Mr Sang release a smile, that was the first time I saw him smiling, hold up, I am angry right now,
"And you think being a personal assistant is easy? Well, if you think it's that easy, then I dare you to be a personal assistant for one day!"
I chuckle, is he serious?
"I accept your dare!" I snap
"Enough", Mr. Sang said still smiling,
This time he laughed,
"Are you serious Micheal", he said
"Alex yes!"
That was when I realized that they were not just co-workers but friends,
"I take the dare, Micheal"
I repeat myself
"Fine, go clear your fuckin' things from that desk"
He turned and left, I stood, hands akimbo
"I guess it's me and you now"
Mr. Sangs smirked and sat down,
"Let's start".

Am having a sleepover at Eric's this night.
When I got there I told him everything that happened at work, and he smiled
"You should focus on work Lin...
"Focus? Eric, you don't get it; if you were telling me this when I was working as a secretary, then okay, but c'mon I am going to be a personal assistant for Mr Alexander.
"For a day lin"
Okay, I have concluded that Eric does not understand what it means to work for a man that you are dying for,
"Okay, Eric, picture Eva calling you one day and telling you that you would now be her assistant.
I can see him give out a smile,
"girl is already charming, I don't need to be her assistant...
"What do you mean?, you are not telling me something...
"She almost kissed me today"
"What the hell, bruh? You don't mean it, do you...
"Am not even tripping"
He chuckles; okay, he is serious; wait, what? Eric was able to pull up his boss!
"Eric I‘m coming back here tomorrow because I will have my own story.
"Lin, don't do anything stupid. I know you.
"Whatever bruh..
After dinner we both went to bed, I pick up my phone and receive a message from Micheal telling me not to be late tomorrow, ass Micheal, yeah I call him anything that comes to my mind, I scroll up to my recent calls, find the boss's contact and sink more into my delusions, I change his name to "my man" and sleep off.
"Who the f**k is my man"
I wake up with a start, and snatch my phone from Eric,
"Mind your freakin' business"
I answered the call hoping to hear the voice of the one after my heart,
"Micheal?!"
He tells me to hurry up and ends the call; what the hell is wrong with this man?
From the way everybody stared at me as I stepped into the company, I knew I had succeeded in looking stunning, I hurried into the boss's office, Micheal was there with him, I greeted him and stood, I could see a little smirk on Mr Sang's face, Micheal rolled his eyes and excused himself,
"Alright please c'mon, you made it on time today, i hope you keep it up, are you ready for your first day as a personal assistant"
He stared at me as if looking for answers in my eyes,
"I am"
He chuckles and arranges his shirt which was buttoned halfway,
"Let's go".

If you are wondering how I did on my first day, I did well, at least that's what he said and.., I am still at the office, I am working late with him. I have never been so hardworking in my life, I hope it pays off, though.
My phone rings and it's Eric, I press my power button,
"You can answer your calls, Marylin, we are not really at work"
Again the way he calls my name! I answer Eric cause he won't stop calling,
"Yesss"
"What do you mean yes, it's a flipping 10:30 pm fam"
"Am at work, Eric"
I said with my teeth clenched together,
"What type of boss keeps their assistant with them after work?"
He snaps, bruh!
"Eric am okay"
I said again but he still didn't get it, I angrily ended the call, and continued working,
"You shouldn't end a call of someone who cares that way"
"Eric? He's just my very foolish best friend don't worry"
"If you insist"
I doubt this man loves long conversations because the whole place was getting too quiet and to be frank am starting to feel sleepy,
"Would you like me to continue being your assistant?"
I got no reply and his phone started ringing but he was not picking, but the phone didn't stop ringing,
"Sir, nagging girlfriend?"
He stood up immediately, I guess he didn't get the joke, he picked up his phone and left the office to the toilet, I could hear him warning the person not to call his phone again, he came back and started packing up,
"Get your things ready, I have somewhere I need to be"
I pack my things without question, I stand and watch him pack his things, slowly,
"I uh, I came with my car, I will just be on my way I will see you tomorrow"
I turn to go when I get no reply
" you will ride with me, it's too late for a woman to be driving on her own, I will send someone to return your car in the morning "
He picks up his phone and leaves the office; I don't seem to understand this man, so I follow him.
