Dawson and I have our turn and the group is absolutely fired up. Just what i was hoping for, in the middle of it all, Alora was beaming with excitement. She bounced on the balls of her feet, cheering and egging everyone else on. I swear I have fallen in love with her. Is love at first sight still a thing? Soon the ramped energy calms a little as George steps out, my best trainee. I truly hope she knows what she is doing. She has excelled at everything we have done so far, but will it be enough? This kid accidentally killed someone years ago during a simple sparring, and he has never been the same. Everyone around us quiets as they both step into the circle, nervous. They can tell what she is to me and know what George can do.
She grins and looks over at me for a moment before returning her gaze at George and whispers "I know you know who I am, don't go easy."
With a curt nod, George gets into position. She does the same, as she eyes him for any possible weakness. George has never had one. Suddenly, she is running at him, but instead of throwing a hit, she slides under him and jumps on his back, instantly putting him in a choke hold. Many of the others watching gasped. I definitely did not expect that. George tries to pull her off, but she only wraps her legs around him, a small grin on her face as George starts to change color. He tries to let out a roar, but it sounds like a strangled cry more than anything. As his face changed from red to purple, his legs gave out, and he dropped to his knees, unwilling to tap out. Onlookers start yelling for him to give in, but he is far too stubborn, like all male wolves. After a minute or two, he looses consciousness, and Alora stands and actually bows. The entire crowd that formed was absolutely shocked as she nodded at her work.
"Alora!" I motioned for her to come over. She basically bounced over, the adrenaline still flowing.
"Alpha." she said with a tiny nod, grinning ear to ear.
I couldn't find the words, opening and closing my mouth, still in shock.
"THAT'S MY GIRL!!" Apex roared in my head, obviously proud of our mate for winning a fight without throwing a single blow.
She grins and bats her lashes "In my home pack this is how we try to fight. Take in everything your sparring partner gives; ego, adrenaline, pride, and find what they are not giving you. Speed, strength. Yeah, he is an absolute monster size wise, but speed is not his friend. We lift weight twice a day for 4 hours at a time. We build strength, so even the smallest women," she gestures at herself, "can do things like that. Get behind them and it is game over." She beamed pridefully.
I was absolutely stunned, and dizzy from my normally broody wolf screaming in my mind. All i can think to do is smile down at this small she-wolf in front of me.
"MARK HER!!!!" Apex kept screaming, absolutely amazed at her explanation.
She was looking at me oddly now, "Sooo.....when can we eat? I am starving." She asked in the most obliviously innocent way I have ever seen. I couldn't help but laugh, and shake my head. I reached over for her hand, and she let me. Grinning, I lead us to the packhouse.
"My favorite cooking is working this afternoon!" I whisper, pulling her closer. She smiles softly, looking up at me.

Pru is howling so hard that it is a struggle not to cover my ears. Alex grabbed my hand and just started walking, like it's the most natural thing in the world. I try not to look at him so he doesn't see the blush rising on my chest and face. He is saying something about a cook, but I am so nervous that I cannot focus on his words.
With his reputation, I have a right to be worried, with angers Pru, but I stopped caring. For not having my wolf right away, she is now very opinionated. This man murdered thousands. Like 7 entire packs are completely extinct because of the anger in this man's soul. I do not know the whole story, but the rumors were soo bad that parents used this man in place of the boogie man. Scary things you tell your children to get them to behave type of stuff.
"-Alora?" We had stopped? Alex was looking at me like I grew an extra head.
"I-I'm sorry. I was thinking. What did you say?" I felt terrible for not paying attention.
"I asked what your favorite foods were." He was watching with a glimpse of humor in his eyes. I just realized that we were standing in the packhouse cafeteria. And the smells are fantastic!
"If I'm being real honest...I love everything, except mushrooms. Those can eat dirt for all I could care." I say very seriously. This makes him burst out laughing...causing others to stare at us.
"Shhh Alex, people are staring! It's not funny." I pout.
After a exaggerated deep sigh, he quiets down. "That's amazing." he said, still grinning as he grabs us both plates and just starts piling food up high on both plates. I shook my head at him and grinned.
