CHAPTER 7 - UNVEILING THE TRUTH - PART 1 - FREYA'S POV

''Can you believe that jerk!'' I complained to Nala, as Tyrian ran from the room, ''How the hell does an Alpha have so much control? I've never met an Alpha who would turn down a woman, and yet my own mates have the power to stay away from me?!'' ''We'll make them pay for their rejection.'' She said, conspiratorially. My fists clenched the quilt as I glared at the door, before I let go of the slight sting of rejection and dressed. I even pulled my long hair up into a braid, leaving it long down my back, before I walked out of the room. ''Princess, my name is Joey. The Alpha's asked me to shadow you today, as your personal guard,'' A young body with thick black hair, and a slightly babyish face, bowed to me. How old is this kid? He looks younger then me. I could literally break this kid in half, and he's meant to be my guard? ''That would be lovely. Thank you,'' I smiled warmly at him. ''The Alpha's are down the hall in that room,'' He gestured. ''I appriciate the help. Thank you, Joey.'' I smiled again, before turning away from him, and walking down the hall. ''If the twins think they're picking my guards, then they're very much mistaken.'' I told Nala. ''We'll change them out once we're back in the capital.'' ''We'll change a lot once we're back in the capital.'' I told her, smiling happily. As I pushed open the door, my heart began to race on it's own, when my mate's scents filled my nose. Goddess, they smelt so damn good. When I walked in, I smiled at them both. The twins were sitting on the same side of the table, Tristan smiling happily at me, but Tyrian was looking directly at his coffee. ''Mess with them.'' Nala giggled. ''Good morning.'' Tristan greeted me, ''You look lovely.'' ''Thank you, Tyrian gave it to me this morning.'' I said, enthusing the words gave it to me, and he looked up at me. ''You look good too.'' I told him, as I moved closer to him. He was dressed in all black, that matched his tanned skin tone. I leaned over and kissed him passionately, leaving us both breathless but the time I'd pulled back, but instead of looking at Tristan. I glanced at Tyrian. ''I'd give you a kiss too, but I gave you one on my bed this morning.'' Tristan glanced at him, but I just giggled and stood up. I took the seat opposite them. ''What happened on the bed this morning?'' Tristan asked his brother, ''Is this why you were worked up when you came back?'' ''I told you nothing happened.'' Tyrian responded while I leaned forward. ''You sleep with me and say it's nothing?'' I asked. ''What?!'' Tristan grabbed his brother's arm, and I laughed again. ''You're so easy,'' I told him, ''We just... kissed. I wanted more, but he turned me down. But..'' I reached out with my legs and ran one up each of their thighs, ''You could always change your mind.'' "Do you ever stop?" Tristan asked, as he laughed and pushed my foot away, ''I think we'll have to go away during your heat to prevent you from trying to seduce us more." Sh*t... I froze nervously. I hadn't expected to have to tell the twins about my heat, or lack there of. It completely slipped my mind. FLASHBACK. "Master please, don't make her do this again!" Jayden, the boy who'd once claimed we weren't friends, defended me, but the master grabbed him by the throat and slammed him into the wall. "Have you gotten too high and mighty around here, boy? Thinking you can request anything of me. You do as you're told. And I've told you to tie my b*tch up, the winners of the last match need their reward. Her heat gives her the stamina to please all of them." The master there Jayden to the ground, and he hit it with a loud thud, cracking his elbow on the stone ground. As the master walked away. Jayden, with tears in his eyes approached me, where I was hugging my knees in the corner of my cell. My heat was about to begin again, and like every other time, I was taken to a room, and locked in with several men. Then, once it was all over, the master would give me poison to kill my son I'd conceived. "I'm sorry, Freya." "Don't use my real name or the master will punish you more," I warned him, as tears fell from my eyes. "Let's just get this over with." Jayden helped me to my feet, and hugged me, "I agree. I agree to your escape plan." He whispered, before leaning back, ''We need to go before I hurt you too. I'm sorry. You just smell so good." I nodded, and together we walked past everyone into the room, where Jayden connected a chain to the back of my mask, locking me into the room for three days. When it was all over, and I was lying on the cold ground, covered in bruises and bite marks, the master returned and let everyone out. He was holding the usual poison, and knelt down beside me, while Jayden stood silently behind him. "Did you have fun, your majesty?" He asked, as he knocked on the mask, that was constantly burning my flesh the moment it healed. "It's a pity I have to keep this mask on you. You were a looker, plus the men would enjoy that mouth of yours. Perhaps I should take it off and cut open a larger mouth hole for them?" I glared at the man who'd been torturing me for years. I hated him just as much as the King. "Don't look at me with those hateful little eyes, b*tch, or I'll gouge them out. An Alpha doesn't need to see to fight. You have other senses. Now drink." I touched my stomach. I didn't want to do this again. "Drink or I'll cut Jayden's eyes out instead." I took the poison and drank it down, cringing in pain instantly as a fire spread from my throat to my womb, where it dissolved my son. I could feel the connection between us break, and then suddenly, as blood began to flow between my thighs, he was gone, and all that remained was pain. "Get her back to her cell. She needs to rest for her fight next week." Two days later, when I could walk again, I went to Sasha's cell. Jayden was already there talking to her as she cooked up her potion. "What are you doing? You need to be resting." Jayden said instantly, but I growled and he stepped back. "Is it ready?" I asked Sasha. For months, I'd been smuggling in herbs from fans watching the matches, and I had finally gotten the last ingredients for Sasha to make me a potion to prevent my heat. "Please don't do this," Jayden pleaded, "You heard what Sash said, it might be permanent. What if you want children in the future?" "I can't think about that," I told him. There was no point in mentioning how many times I'd cried myself to sleep thinking I'd never be a mother. Never have an heir. My pain changed nothing, about what needed to be done, "I have a duty to survive and take the throne. I can't leave the King to rule. He's a monster. I have to live, and if I am forced to kill another heir, it will destroy me," I told them, my voice trembling, "You don't understand the bond between an Alpha and an heir, not to mention I'm also a Luna. The pain in doubled every time. I can't keep going through this. So... If it's ready, give it me." I reached out my hand and Sasha frowned sadly. "I hope you don't regret this," She told me as she poured a glass of the strange herbal liquid, "Just add a few drops of your blood, and it'll be completed, and be sitting when you drink it, you'll be in a lot of pain." "Thanks, I owe you.'' "Just get us out like you swore, and we'll be even." "I will." I vowed. Jayden followed me back to my cell, where I sat down. "Leave, I want to be alone." "No," He said stubbornly and sat behind me, then suddenly his arms were around me, holding me tightly. "I won't leave you. You're my Alpha. I'm your Beta. I'm here for you." Tears filled my eyes, "I thought we weren't friends?" I joked. I always brought up his words when we first met, whenever he got emotional. "Shut up." He laughed. I smiled and lifted the glass, took a steadying breath and swallowed the entire thing in one large gulp. The pain was instantaneous, and I quickly locked my yaw to stop myself from screaming in agony. The entire lower body was on fire, and soon the pain was too much that I passed out in Jayden's arms. I waited nervously for three months, hoping the potion had worked, and when the time finally came for my heat, and nothing happened outside a slight fever, I smiled in relief. The master, however, was furious and beat me until I was gasping for air. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? HOW ARE YOU PREVENTING YOUR HEAT?!" He shouted, and kicked me in the stomach, knocking the wind out of me, but still, I said nothing. "Maybe it was the poison?" Masters second in command commented from where he was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, "It was bound to ruin her eventually." "DAMN IT!" He screamed and kicked me again. "WHAT AM I GOING TO DO NOW?" ''Just throw her on with them anyway. They won't care." "No, they like it when she begs," He said, filling me with shame. I hated that I begged them for it during my heat, it made me sick. "Forget it. She's still my best fighter. She was used up anyway." He kicked me one more time before storming off. END OF FLASHBACK ''I don't have a heat.'' I confessed, and my mates froze for a moment. ''Not ever?'' Tyrian asked as he looked at me with pity. ''Maybe female Alpha's won't go into a heat until their marked?'' Tristan suggested and I glared at him. ''Nice try,'' I said, and he smiled back, ''However... I... I used to have my heat, but during my time in the arena. The master used to..'' I hesitated again, and my mates looked at me with pity, probably guessing what I was about to say, ''Let the men hurt me, and then he'd kill the children.'' ''You... were pregnant before?'' Tyrian asked as his hand gripped the cup he was holding. ''Yes.'' ''How many times?'' Tristan asked. ''Enough.'' I whispered as my voice trembled, making me feel weak. I looked down for a moment, ''Anyway,'' I said, looking up again, my voice steadier and my face showing no signs of the pain I felt inside. I was good at hiding my pain, ''To stop the master from hurting me again, I made a choice, and I can no longer have a heat.'' ''What choice?'' Tyrian asked, and I looked at him coldly. ''A private one,'' I responded, ''So if you want an heir. We should end things now. I won't have you resent me because you can't have a son. I saw first hand how that ended with my parents.'' ''We only want you,'' Tristan told me, his tone serious, ''Not some idea of a family.'' ''Plus, we can just adopt, like dad did,'' Tyrian told me, with a warm smile, though I could see a little disappointment in his gaze, ''But, I do hope you'll open up and tell us what happened one day. That day will never come. ''Maybe.'' ''I do want to know something else though,'' Tristan asked. ''I thought you didn't remember your past, How did you see anything first hand?'' Tristan commented, and I froze. Damn it! How could I be so stupid? I looked into his eyes, and gave up lying. It was over. I'd messed up. That stupid bond made me lose control. Not to mention the fact that I was upset because we'd spoken about my heat. ''I... lied,'' I admitted, and Tyrian frowned, but Tristan smiled. Did he already know I was lying? Had I messed up before around him?
