The Vampire Queen's Pet Chapter 19 Jax's point of view. Forty-eight hours until we go to war with the Vampires. I wake up early, knowing we have a lot to get through these last couple of days; I slide out of bed so I don't wake up Ysabella before slipping into the medical room for a fresh bag of blood; thankfully, the draining system is working a treat and im always in front with the blood. Not that Ysabella would ever go hungry now she has a room full of men willing to go out hunting for her. I smile as I hook the bag up to the drip. Ysabella doesn't even move. I've never known anyone who sleeps like her, but then again, most of the guys in my life are ex-military, and it is normal for us not to sleep well. I leave the room as quietly as I can, leaving her sleeping; for once, I beat Bear, and I chuckle as I make a start on the breakfasts for all the guys. A minute later, Bear is by my side as he cracks a full tray of eggs on the griddle. Humming to himself as he flips them over with his spatula. "You're in a good mood this morning Bear." I say with a raised eyebrow, and he laughs as he replies. "What can I say two days until d day? I've been waiting far too long to take these bloodsuckers down." I chuckle; I know the feeling only for me it's the Vampire King that I can't wait to get my hands on. The rest of the guys all start to join us in the living area as they all pile their plates high, another thing about being in the army, you are never guaranteed a hot meal, so when the food is there, you make the most of it, and these guys are definitely making the most of it this morning. I grab a chair next to Bear and dig into my food. When Ysabella walks into the room, she's wearing one of my t-shirts, and it makes my c**k stir; I need to have a word with the little man. He has me acting like a horny teenager whenever I look at her. She smiles as she makes her way over to me before sitting on my lap as I kiss her sweet lips. She looks down at my plate with longing. "Do you miss eating Ysabella?" I ask; her face turns serious as she replies. "So much Jax, what I wouldn't give to eat some chocolate." I take her hand in mine as I whisper. "I wish I could make it easier for you. Can you not tolerate food at all?. She sighs. "No, it just makes me feel so ill. Please don't apologise to me, Jax; you have no idea how much easier you have already made my life." I turn her face to look at me as I say. "If I've made it easier for you, then please say you'll stay with me if the High Witch can't reverse the Vampire Spell Baby; I'll do whatever it takes to make your life as normal as possible." Her eyes go wide as she replies. "I don't want to leave you, Jax, but I don't think I'm strong enough to watch you grow old without me, to watch you take your last breath whilst I am still young." I guess you don't think of these things when you are nothing but a mere human. I kiss her lips as I whisper. "Then promise me some more time with you….I can't let you go just yet Ysabella; I've only just found you, baby." She places her head on my shoulder as she whispers. "I can promise you more time if you promise me that when the time is right, you will do as I ask. I don't want to live out my life as a Vampire for the next few hundred years, especially without you, Jax." I rest my head on the top of hers, understanding exactly what she's asking of me because I feel the same way too, I don't want to live my life without this woman by my side, and If I get a few years of happiness with her, then it's better than the alternative, so I whisper. "If that's what you want, Ysabella, then I will not break my promise to you; if I get to spend another twenty years with you in my life, then I will be forever grateful, baby." She lets out a sigh of relief as she melts into my arms, and I whisper quietly to her. " Just how old are you, Ysabella?" She sighs as she replies. "I'm sixty-four now; I was fourteen when King Areon and his army took me away from my parents, sixteen when he raped me for the first time and eighteen when he turned me against my will." I pull her close as I see a tear slip down her pale cheek, wiping it away with the pad of my thumb as I say. "He's going to pay for what he's done to you, Ysabella." I hold her tight, letting her deal with her emotions as I think about our future. If the spell works, will she stay young, or will she turn into her true age? Now I know your thinking I'm going to leave her if she changes into an older lady, but you couldn't be more wrong as the only thoughts running through my head is how long I get to keep her in my arms, even if she turns into a sixty-four-year-old then maybe with gods blessing we have a few years together. If the spell doesn't work, then perhaps I will have her for a few years longer, and if the spell works but she stays young, then maybe we could even have a family one day. My heart leaps with the thought of Ysabella carrying my child. Who knows what the future may hold. I hold her tight in my arms, never wanting to let her go. Bear is sitting at the other side of us, so I know he's heard a good part of our conversation. I swear I see him wipe away a tear. I've never seen Bear cry in my life. I've seen this seven-foot mountain of a man hold a dying man as he takes his last breath, but I've never seen him shed a tear before. I smile at the man who is more like a father to me than my own flesh and blood. I guess my little Vampire holds a special place in his heart too. But then again, Ysabella is special.
