EPISODE 12: Bloodlines and Betrayals

--- Zurich, Switzerland – Midnight The echoes of Ariana’s threats still hung in the air like storm clouds over the penthouse suite. The Zurich skyline stretched out behind Tristan as he stood at the balcony, shirt unbuttoned, hair windswept from the night. Lights glimmered beneath him like dying stars, but he barely noticed. His hands trembled—not from fear, but fury. The words she’d spoken—“You don’t know who you are, Tristan”—burned into his mind like fire etched in ice. Was it true? Was everything—his legacy, his love for Ariana, even the empire—built on a lie? Behind him, Selene stepped silently into the suite, closing the balcony doors with a whisper. She watched him for a moment, hesitating. Her presence had always been calm, even when danger loomed. But tonight, something was different. “I decrypted the last transmission,” she said quietly. Tristan turned slowly. “And?” “The Order has moved the final piece. It’s no longer in Zurich.” His jaw clenched. “Where?” “Casablanca.” That name hit him like a punch. He had never been there, but his mother had. She had always spoken of it in hushed tones, eyes wistful. It was where she’d met his father. Where she had fled from something—and where, perhaps, her secrets remained buried. He turned to Selene. “We leave tonight.” --- Leclair Jet – En Route to Casablanca Dr. Lin spread the map across the jet’s illuminated table. “The House of Idris was more than a family—it was a bloodline of seers and guardians. They protected relics from the Arcane War. When your mother disappeared, so did the crown shard.” Tristan leaned in. “You’re saying I have blood ties to them?” “Your mother’s maiden name was Aysha Idris. Direct line.” Selene added, “And the shard can only be claimed by someone of pure blood. That’s why Ariana needed you. That’s why she’s been pushing you to awaken.” Tristan exhaled. So many lies. “She never loved me,” he said quietly. Selene looked up from the map. “She did. Or she tried to. But power corrupted her long before love had a chance.” Silence fell. Only the low hum of the engines filled the void. “Then I’ll claim it,” Tristan said. “And I’ll end this.” --- Casablanca – The Medina They arrived just after sunset. The city was alive with color, scent, and sound. Lanterns swayed above narrow streets. Music drifted from hidden courtyards. But beneath the festive surface lay danger. Selene led them through the alleyways to a crumbling tea house. Inside, an old man awaited. His eyes, milk-white with blindness, fixed directly on Tristan. “I saw you in a dream,” he rasped. “You carry the storm.” He reached for Tristan’s hand and placed a key in his palm. “Below the old well,” the man said. “Stone door. Speak your mother’s name.” --- The Catacombs – Beneath the City The descent was steep and silent. Selene carried a torch; the flickering light cast shadows on carved sandstone walls. As they reached the chamber’s end, a door stood etched with Idris sigils. Tristan stepped forward. “Aysha,” he whispered. The stone rumbled. Dust fell as ancient mechanisms unlocked. Slowly, the gate opened. Inside was a circular chamber, bathed in the soft glow of crystal runes. At its center stood a pedestal, and upon it— A shard. No bigger than his palm, but pulsing with unimaginable power. Light danced within it—gold, violet, and crimson. Selene whispered, “The Heart of Idris.” As Tristan stepped forward, a voice echoed. “Touch it, and you become more than heir. You become judge.” He froze. The voice hadn’t come from Selene. It came from everywhere. From the shard itself. He reached out. “TRISTAN!” a voice shouted from behind. Ariana. She stood in the open archway, flanked by five mercenaries in dark cloaks. Magic crackled at her fingertips. “Step away from the shard,” she said. Tristan didn’t move. “You lied to me.” She took a slow step forward. “And you lied to yourself. You always knew there was something inside you. Something dark. You felt it, didn’t you?” He stared at her. “You used me.” “I loved you,” she snapped. “I still do. That’s why I want to protect you—from yourself.” Selene drew a dagger, enchanted and glowing. But Ariana raised a hand. “Let him decide. One touch, Tristan. But know this—once it bonds, you cannot undo it. You will see everything. The truth. The blood. The betrayal.” Tristan looked at Selene. Her eyes held only fear—for him, not of him. He stepped to the pedestal. Touched the shard. --- Vision – The Memory Vault A flash of gold. He was somewhere else. A grand hall. Stone pillars. His mother knelt in a circle of flame. His father—young, fierce—watched as robed men chanted. “Give her up,” one said. “She carries the heir,” another warned. “She chose wrong,” his father whispered. “No,” Aysha said. “He will choose right.” The vision shifted. Tristan saw himself—newborn, eyes glowing. And then—her death. Not an accident. A ritual. Blood spilled for silence. He screamed—but there was no sound. Until Aysha’s voice echoed across time: “Find me. Free me. Finish it.” --- Back in the Catacombs Tristan gasped, collapsing to the floor. The shard vanished into his chest. Selene knelt beside him. “You saw?” He nodded, eyes hollow. “Everything.” He rose to his feet, facing Ariana. Power crackled around him. Lightning danced across his fingers. “I am Idris,” he said. “And I am Leclair. You will kneel.” Ariana’s lips parted—fear breaking through her armor. The room darkened. The crown had chosen. --- To be continued
