Gabriel finished brushing his teeth, combed his hair back, and rubbed moisturizer into his face until his skin had turned red. Then, he took one last sorry look at himself in the mirror before stepping right across the hallway and into his bedroom. He’d pick up his clothes when he got home. He just needed to get dressed and get going. The sooner he could drown himself into work, the sooner he could forget about his quiet phone and a growling stomach. He’d gotten about five hours of sleep, and that was being generous enough to say that he was asleep the second he laid down in bed. That certainly hadn’t happened.
