CHAPTER 12
Lany, the cook at Danny’s, was taking the trash out behind Danny’s Bar and Grill. He dumped the trash into the dumpster and closed it with a bang. He turned to go back inside but stopped when he heard a noise between the two dumpsters.
He turned and went back to look. There between the dumpsters was a small child. He looked scared. The dumpster noise must have frightened him. He was sitting on a dirty blanket and was dirty and probably hungry.
Lany knelt down to talk to him. He was trying to reassure him so he would not be so scared.
“Hey there young fellow,” said Lany holding out his hand. The baby just stared at him and ignored his hand.
