CHAPTER 3
Even though Jed was not looking to get involved with another woman, he could not get Marissa Embers off his mind. He found himself looking in every mirror he passed. When he was around any reflective surface, she would pop into his mind. He tried to ignore his thoughts of her, but there was something about her he could not forget.
He was grumpy around his workers and short with his parents, when he went in for lunch. He apologized to his mom and dad. They looked at him strangely but accepted his apology. He did not apologize to his workers. He was planning on taking some time off. Maybe his grumpiness would help them understand why he needed a break.
