Family heartbreak acceptance and freedom

Chapter 11

We eventually heard a car engine pull up outside the school and saw two people get out and start looking for something. We thought it was intruders, but then we heard two voices that we recognized: "Jasmine! Jasmine, where are you, Jasmine?" After about 10 minutes of hearing our names being called, Jasmine and I shouted out as best we could, "Help! We are over here! Help us!"

Alice and Justin came running over as soon as they heard us. "Jasmine, Natalie, what happened to you two? You, Jasmine, never came home, and me and your dad got worried. And, Natalie, your mum phoned me to say that she couldn't get a hold of you on your phone, and she was hysterical. As soon as Jasmine didn't answer her phone, we got worried and came and searched for you both. What happened? Did Craig do this to you? Because if he did, I won't be happy."

It wasn't Craig, Alice, don't worry. It was Hannah and Ashley that did this. They said that they didn't like how we spoke to them at the party, but they are the ones who threatened us. I tried to stand up for us, but they started to hit us. We didn't know what else to do. We did try, but we both passed out from the pain. We did try to call, but the girls broke my phone and broke Jasmine's phone, but hers managed to still ring. As soon as we saw you calling, we tried to reach for it, but we couldn't. Then her phone died.

But I bet Craig had something to do with this, though. I think he knows that me and Jas are friends, and he doesn't like that we are, so he most probably told the girls to do more than just hit us. You know what he can be like, and especially with what happened to me and Mum last night after the party.

What happened after the party? Alice asked me, and I told her all that had happened to me and Mum. Justin was disgusted with how Craig treated us, and Alice didn't say anything; she just looked at me, shocked and with a sad look in her eyes. They didn't want us to say anymore to them for the moment, as we could hear rustling behind us.

We thought it was the twins that had come back, but thankfully it was only the caretaker for the school. He thought that someone was breaking into the school, but it was us. Oh, what are you all doing here at this time of night?

Well, the girls had a bit of trouble after school, Mr. Caretaker. We were just coming here to see where they were, as they never came home. As you can see, we found them. Sorry for disturbing you. We just wanted to make sure the girls were okay. We will take them home now, Justin said to the caretaker.

Oh, okay, that's good then. Oh, I didn't mean it like that. I meant that the girls are okay and that there was no one breaking into the school. Hope you girls are okay. If you ever need help, just let me know. I am around the school most days during the day, and my name is Alan, by the way. Nice to meet you girls, and hope to see you around.

Alan then walked back towards the school. Alice and Justin walked me and Jasmine back to the car and took us home.
