Chapter 22 With the advent of spring, our afternoons in the forest resumed. They were not nearly as pleasant as in the summer and early fall, since it still rained frequently. Often Neeve and I had the choice to go out into the drizzle and return with sopping cloaks and squelching shoes, or remain inside the castle, bored but dry. Despite the rain, we usually chose the forest. As the days grew longer, so too grew my anticipation for my upcoming birthday.
