That evening started warm and pleasant. Eirlys and Edmund had come over for dinner and we were all sitting around the table enjoying the meal I had made. The conversation was easy, comfortable even.
Then Aldric showed up.
He didn't knock. He just walked in and came straight to the dining room. The atmosphere changed immediately.
"Kaelan," he said. "We need to discuss your recent decisions."
"Father," Kaelan answered. "We're in the middle of dinner. Can this wait?"
