CHAPTER TWOTHE DOOR SLAMMED, ANNOUNCING Edi's mood upon returning from work. Nothing new, he'd been like that all week. At least it was Friday and he wouldn't have to go back until Monday.
"Babe, where are you?"
Despite Edi’s bad mood, I found myself happy to know he was looking for me the moment he got back.
"Kitchen. Want a sandwich?"
He hugged me from behind and kissed my cheek. "Yeah, please. I skipped lunch."
I bit my lip to prevent myself from saying anything. We'd had this conversation every day. He skipped lunch and drank a ton of coffee at work, all to get out of there as soon as possible. Most days he still arrived at the apartment late, but at least today he'd made it here early. "It will be ready in a minute. Want to change and relax a bit?"
